How's it going? My name is Leo and I am a curated.com ski expert. I'm coming to you live from my home in Denver where I've been in the industry for over 10 years. Today, I am going to give you a quick comparison of two skis that we often look at together, the Blizzard Rustler 9 and the Nordica Enforcer 94. We're going to talk about who the product is good for, who it's not good for, how these two products are similar, and how they are different.

Blizzard Rustler 9 Skis

So, let's go ahead and dive in, starting with the Rustler 9 as for who and what it's good for. This ski is good for the intermediate to advanced skier who is wanting to unlock more technical terrain. This ski has a good amount of rocker, which is the way the ski curls away from the snow at the tip and the tail. This makes the ski a little bit more playful and easy to turn than a traditionally cut ski. It's got a partial sheet of metal underfoot, so it's very good at biting into firm snow and holding a good edge.

This ski is really designed for skiers, east to west, who are hitting blues and blacks, wanting to get into moguls, and wanting to get into trees more easily while still having enough surface area to handle some fresh snow. This ski is going to find its limits in deep powder. So anything deeper than your boots, this ski is really not going to hold up to floating well in that depth. This ski is also going to have its limits when it comes to skiing at super-fast speeds. While it has that partial sheet of metal underfoot to give you stability and grip on hard pack, because of its pivoty nature, it's not going to feel the best when you lock into a carve and really let it run to max out that top speed.+

Nordica Enforcer 94 Skis

Let's jump over to the Nordica Enforcer 94 here and talk about who, and what this product is good for. This product is better for the advanced to expert level skier, who wants a really burly ski that can plow through crud, that can hold a fantastic edge, and is really stable, no matter what the speed is, and still have enough playfulness in it to make moguls, trees, and ungroomed areas really fun. So this one is much more designed for that heavier, more advanced skier, who wants a lot of power behind them. A lighter-weight skier might find it a bit burly to manage.

This product is going to find its limits again in deep snow at 94 underfoot. It's still going to do well in up to boot deep powder, but it's not going to be the ski I pick for the days that are up to my knees. This ski is not good for the beginner or intermediate or the lightweight skier. You guys are going to find it too demanding and too burly to have a lot of fun on. It's going to ask a lot of you and wear you out in long ski days.

Similarities and Differences

These products are really similar by the numbers. They're both 94 underfoot, they both have quicker turning radiuses to them, but they're very different in their construction. Overall, the Rustler has a partial sheet of metal underfoot. The Enforcer has two sheets of metal in it and that stiffness, that core material, makes a big difference. The Rustler also has a bit more pronounced rocker in the tail. Again, that's the way it curls up away from the snow. So it gives it a little bit more of a playful back end to the ski, making it a little less directional, a little less hard charging in that sense.

Of course, the devil is in the details. Not every ski is going to behave the same way for every person and we want to dive into that to make sure we are getting the right piece for you. So if you have any questions, hit us up right here on curated.com and we'd love to chat with you about it. Thanks.
