The Curated Take
3.8/5
The Stealth HD irons are ideal for golfers with a lower swing speed who struggle with achieving height and direction. The club's design, featuring a wide sole and weaker lofts, ensures easy turf gliding, improved sweet spot hitting, and high ball flight. The modern look combined with the brushed steel and carbon fiber cap enhances the appeal. While not designed for distance, the clubs provide forgiveness and a consistent, stable impact, making them a reliable tool for golfers aiming to improve their game and gain confidence.
Ideal for
- High launch
- High forgiveness
- Best for people wanting draw-biased flight
Not ideal for
- Not a club to shape ball flight side to side
- Bigger head shows a trailing edge behind the top line at address, looking less like a traditional iron
- Not the longest irons due to lofts that are not "jacked"

Expert Reviews of the TaylorMade Stealth HD Irons
Miguel B. The Stealth is for people with a lower swing speed and who need help getting the ball airborne. Players seeking help keeping the ball more straight and even with a draw will benefit from the club design. The wide sole makes it easy to glide through the turf and improves feel, allowing me to hit the sweet spot more often. The clubs have a very modern look with the brushed steel and carbon fiber cap back, yet they are also a shallower face, so they do, indeed, look non-traditional. They feel great because they are such stable clubs at impact.

Review Ratings
Workability
2/5
Miguel B. gave 2 of 5 stars. Hitting high draws and fades to tucked pins or flighting a low stinger are aspirational golf goals. And some players can do all those in a single round and on purpose. These clubs are not for those players. Workability is not a selling point on these Stealth HD irons. They are a super game improvement club designed to fight the slice and get the ball airborne and straight.
Forgiveness
5/5
Miguel B. gave 5 of 5 stars. I am very impressed that these clubs do what they are marketed to do. The HD means High Draw, and it produces a high launch while minimizing slices. Beyond the tech of the head, the weaker lofts inherently make these irons easier to hit on the sweet spot. They are forgiving and fun to hit.
Feel
3/5
Miguel B. gave 3 of 5 stars. Since these clubs are weaker lofted, players will feel less twisting and a stronger feel at impact. The wide sole helps glide over the turn instead of digging through it, and this smooth interaction also promotes a smooth feeling at impact. The enhanced sweet spot, lofts, and sole generate a smooth and strong feel.
Sound
5/5
Miguel B. gave 5 of 5 stars. Sometimes, I see a unique golf product and immediately wonder what it will sound like. Sound also relates to “feel.” So when seeing the Stealth HD, I was curious. To my pleasant surprise, the sound is a clean, crisp impact. The only thing that might stand out to players is that the wider sole brushes more of the ground, so they may hear some turf interaction that isn’t as perceptible on much thinner-soled clubs.
Launch
5/5
Miguel B. gave 5 of 5 stars. The high launch that these clubs provide is really fun to watch. Designed for a slow to moderate swing speed, the clubs make hitting high yet strong trajectories so easy. A higher launch means I can carry bunkers, hazards, and, most importantly, hold greens.
Distance
3/5
Miguel B. gave 3 of 5 stars. Hitting balls far feels great until I see the ball fly over the green. Even worse is when I see my ball hit the green from the fairway and then roll off because it didn’t have enough trajectory to land softly. So, distance is great until it isn’t. These clubs don't try to run off a runway. They increase distance through forgiveness and hang time, but when they land, they stop. This can lead to precise distances instead of longest distances.
FAQs
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Miguel B. My favorite moment with this gear was during the first few swings on a natural grass driving range. I must admit that I didn‘t feel comfortable based on looks. It looks like a shallow face, and combined with the multi-tiered wide sole, I thought it might just feel too chunky. Yet, to my surprise, it felt clean and crisp. The sole glided into and over the turf, reducing the dreaded deep chunk. This design feature seemed to allow the face to be shallower. So ultimately, I was blown away by the initial performance.
Why did you choose this product?
Miguel B. I couldn’t wait to try the Stealth HD and measure it against the TaylorMade claims of being a High Draw inducing club. This club directly counters the formula for super game improvement clubs with strong lofts for increased distance. This club doesn’t have strong lofts. So instead of being hyper-focused on distance, TaylorMade focused on what seemed to be a problem for some with this type of club. They focused on getting the ball airborne and at higher trajectories. Based on my testing, TaylorMade met their goal.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Miguel B. While the TaylorMade Stealth HD set may cost more, this design is unique and performs differently than other models. The lofts on this set are anywhere from 1.5° to 2.5° weaker than competitor super game improvement clubs. So the value to the user of a club that aims to improve launch and overall ability to reach greens and hold them with high descent angles is great.
What do you love about this product?
Miguel B. I love how consistently this set of irons launches the ball high and straight with relative ease. I don't feel I have to work hard or strike down on the ball—an easy swing results in a straight flight with a high trajectory. I love how easily this set of irons makes me feel more confident with each swing.
