About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the golf club set, which I purchased with my own money in June of 2021.

My take

The Stix Golf 11-Club Set is ideal for beginner and casual golfers. This set provides all the necessary gear to play golf with quality clubs at a fair price. It also comes with headcovers and a stand bag.

What I was looking for

I was looking to test out beginner and intermediate golf sets to see which ones are the best for golfers looking to get their first set or upgrade from their old gear. I wanted something affordable and high-quality that would last for years.

Why I chose this club

I bought this set because it has a very simple and clean look with an all-black color. These clubs are also very high quality for the price and provide beginner golfers with all the necessary clubs to play a full round of golf. Another set I looked at was the Robin Golf 13-piece set that also comes with a golf bag. However, I chose the Stix set instead because it was cheaper, and the clubs looked better.

What I love about it

  • Distance: These clubs are not the longest-distance clubs by any means. However, they certainly pack a punch and are great for a beginner golfer because the ball jumps off the clubface to help add some distance.
  • Forgiveness: Like distance, the set does not contain the most forgiving possible clubs on the market. However, at this price, there is nothing better for forgiveness than these clubs. In addition, they are very forgiving on both toe and heel shots, which is great for beginner golfers looking for a cheap set to get into playing golf.
  • Feel: The Stix clubs feel surprisingly good. They have a soft and explosive feel. The driver and woods feel like the ball jumps off the clubface for added distance, while the irons feel smooth and soft. This is the best feeling complete set, at this price, that I have found.
  • Sound: These clubs sound very traditional to most golf clubs. They do not have the same loud explosive sound that higher-end clubs have, but they sound very solid and complete. I have not hit a shot with these clubs where they didn't sound good.
  • Workability: This 11-piece golf set is actually very good for workability. This set is great because it provides a driver, 5-wood, hybrid, 5-PW iron, a 56° wedge, and a putter for a lower price than most high-end iron sets. This is the ideal amount of clubs for a beginner or intermediate golfer looking to get more into golf. Additionally, I have no problem shaping my shots with these clubs with fades, draws, and low and high shots.
  • Aesthetic Appeal: The Stix golf clubs are good-looking for the price range and category they attempt to fill. This is the best-looking complete beginner/intermediate set of golf clubs that I have ever seen. The all-black color paired with the simple traditional clubhead shapes creates a very pleasing and good-looking set of golf clubs.
  • Launch Angle: These clubs launch really well. On all of the clubs in this set, the weight is pulled back and low to help maximize forgiveness and launch. The weight is mainly in the back of the club and moves the center of gravity lower, which helps launch the ball higher in the air. This is extremely important for all golfers, especially beginners interested in this set.
  • Customization: This Stix set comes with both left and right-hand options. Additionally, there are two different shaft flexes: regular and stiff. There is also the option for length adjustments, including +/- 1in, +/- .5in, and standard length.

Issues I’ve encountered

  • Adjustability: There are no adjustability options with this set of clubs.
  • Shaft Feel: These shafts sometimes feel too soft for my liking. I like a firm, hard feeling with my club shafts, which sometimes feel a little too soft and whippy. However, that is very helpful for most beginner golfers.
  • Shaft Performance: The shafts are not the best, especially for someone with higher swing speeds. However, these shafts are great for players who need help launching the ball higher and increasing clubhead speed.
  • Grip Feel: The grips on these clubs feel fine when one first gets the set. However, these grips wear out quickly and must be replaced within the first few months. I recommend using the grips until they wear out and re-gripping these clubs with a higher-end grip that will last longer.
  • Spin: This set's driver, woods, and irons spin too much for me. However, this is helpful for beginners because the high spin with the driver and woods will help with accuracy, and the higher spin with the irons will help hold greens.

Best shot with this club

The best shot I hit with this set of clubs was on a short par 4 that I could make an eagle on. The par 4 was 320 yards, and I hit the driver and was left with about 40 yards to the pin. I hit the wedge in the set, chipped it to two feet, and made the putt for birdie.

Value for the money vs. other options

This is the best value set of golf clubs for beginner golfers. Very few sets, if any, provide this much quality, forgiveness, and looks for an affordable and reasonable price. This set is also great for golfers who only play a few times a year but would like to upgrade from their older clubs. A cheaper alternative would be the Callaway Strata golf club set. This set includes a bag and 14 clubs rather than 11, although the quality is lower than the Stix golf set, and this Stix set comes with headcovers.

Final verdict

The Stix Golf 11-Club Set is great for beginner and intermediate golfers. It offers beginner golfers everything they need to get started in the game.
