3.6/5
The Rossignol Evo 70 Ski Boots are an ideal choice for beginner to intermediate skiers. Lightweight and equipped with a comfortable liner, it offers easy control due to its 70-flex rating and three-buckle design. Especially suitable for those with wider feet, this boot provides all-day comfort without weighing down skiers. However, while it offers good waterproofing, drying can take time if the liner gets wet. The lack of a "walk mode" and GripWalk soles can make walking more challenging in certain terrains. Nevertheless, its features present great value for money compared to other beginner boots in the market.

Expert Reviews of the Rossignol Evo 70 Ski Boots
Lucia L The Rossignol Evo 70 boot is a great option for skiers looking for a flexy and comfortable boot to wear throughout the day. The liners are soft and comfy, and the boot easily flexes with little effort. They made turns effortless. I have narrow feet and found the 104mm last very wide, but if someone has a wider foot and is looking for comfort, this would be a great option. The plastic does get worn and scratched easily, but I did not see cracks or damage. The liners resist well and were warm and comfortable the whole day I tested them.

Review Ratings
Claimed Stiffness Accuracy
4/5
Lucia L gave 4 of 5 stars. When I tried the boot, I feared it would be very soft and hard to control for a more advanced skier. However, the Rossignol Evo 70 held up surprisingly well, and I had a fun time riding with this boot. I could lean into the boot quite a bit, and it reacted quickly, making turns easy and controllable.
Heel Hold
4/5
Lucia L gave 4 of 5 stars. When walking around and riding intermediate terrain, I found the Rossignol Evo 70 to hold my heel very well. However, when leaning more into the boot on steeper terrain when carving, I found more heel lift than I would have liked. This is a good indication that this boot is meant more for beginner to intermediate versus advanced skiers.
Weight
5/5
Lucia L gave 5 of 5 stars. The Rossignol Evo 70 boot is great for learners as they won't have heavy gear weighing them down. Because of the lighter weight, the boots are comfortable to wear all day.
Waterproofing
4/5
Lucia L gave 4 of 5 stars. The Rossignol Evo 70 ski boot was pretty water-resistant while skiing. The plastic shell makes sure little to no snow gets in the boot. Sometimes, especially in deeper snow, some water entered the liner. This was not too much of an issue while skiing, but drying the boot out took a lot longer than other boots I have tested. One can always pull the liner out to dry, but I kept the liner in, which took a bit longer.
Durability
3/5
Lucia L gave 3 of 5 stars. The liner is made with a smooth nylonish material, which prevents hair or pilling from sticking. The shells scuff up quickly, like many other boots. However, because of the color of the shell, scratches and scrapes become visible fast.
Walk Mode
1/5
Lucia L gave 1 of 5 stars. Unfortunately, the Rossignol Evo 70 ski boot does not feature a "walk mode" on the 2024 model. While they are still comfortable to wear all day and walk around lodges and lots with, a designated "walk mode" would have made it a bit easier. The boots also have standard Alpine soles without GripWalk, which makes walking on ice or metal grates a thrilling experience.
Responsiveness
4/5
Lucia L gave 4 of 5 stars. When riding the Rossignol Evo 70 boots, I found them very responsive in most situations around the mountain. The low flex rating of 70 and three-buckle design make the boot easy to control and respond well to any pressure applied. When making quicker turns in steeper terrain, the responsiveness was delayed a little. However, on groomers and intermediate terrain, they responded well to any movements.
Versatility
4/5
Lucia L gave 4 of 5 stars. The Rossignol Evo 70 boot has a good amount of versatility as a beginner to intermediate boot. However, for a more advanced skier, features like "walk mode," GripWalk soles, or better ventilation might be preferred. With the lightweight shell, comfortable liner, wider last, and high instep accommodation, this boot has the potential to accommodate a variety of user profiles.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
Lucia L My favorite detail about the Rossignol Evo 70 boot is the lightweight shell. Most beginner boots are heavy and clunky, but not this one. This boot is light and comfy all day, preventing one's legs and feet from getting tired just walking around. The shell is also pretty flexy, making it comfortable when riding all day long. Comfort is key for a long day on the slopes, and Rossignol addressed that with the Evo 70 boot with a lightweight shell, comfortable liner, and high flex rating.
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Lucia L I wore these boots throughout my adventure at my local mountain. This might be a little cliche, but my favorite moment was the long walk to my car through the parking lots. Why? Because after an entire day of riding and wearing them, I still felt comfy and at ease when walking 500 yards to my car. I barely had to undo the buckles throughout the day, which was a win. The liners were super soft and comfy, and the shell flexed with ease, making them enjoyable to wear the entire day.
Why did you choose this product?
Lucia L I chose to test this product as I was curious to know how it performed on the slopes. Working in a rental shop, I value learning how the gear performs that I send my customers out on. The key to good skiing is being in the right boot, and I want to ensure I pair my customers with the boot that is right for them. The Rossignol Evo 70 caught my attention as it is one of our standard beginner boots. The low flex rating of 70 and three-buckle design were features I wanted to understand how this boot would act under pressure. Overall, I found the Rossignol Evo 70 an excellent boot for beginners, flexing easily while riding.
