The Best Cobra Golf Gear
Are you looking for new golf equipment and trying to find the best Cobra Golf gear? If so, you’re in the right place. Cobra Golf is a top name in the industry and has made some amazing equipment since 1973.
But if you’re a newer golfer it’s easy to get overwhelmed and confused about what brands have the best products. After writing about golf for years and hitting hundreds of clubs, my goal today is to simplify this process so you can buy with confidence. The right clubs can make all the difference in the world so you can have more fun every time you tee it up.
Cobra Golf
The Cobra brand is most well known for its effort to make more forgiving clubs for amateur golfers. While they do have players on the PGA Tour, including Rickie Fowler and Justin Rose, they also offer a larger selection of equipment for mid- to higher-handicap golfers than do Ping, TaylorMade, or Titleist.
This is great for us weekend warriors who want something that is easy to hit, high launching, and — let’s get real — makes golf more fun!
Best Cobra Golf Clubs
Whether you need a Cobra golf driver, easy-to-hit fairway woods, or oversized irons, Cobra has a product for you. Here is some of my favorite equipment that I think will help your game.
Cobra Fly-XL Complete Set
Before getting into individual products, I can’t forget to mention the Cobra Fly-XL complete set. Not all brands make complete sets (or ones that I’d necessarily recommend), but Cobra is different. This set is a top pick of mine for a few reasons:
- Lightweight design is great for newer golfers with slower swing speeds.
- Senior or regular flex options in graphite or steel shafts
- Includes a driver, 3W, 5W, 4 and 5 hybrids, 6- through 9-irons, PW, SW, and putter
- Comes with a lightweight stand bag (instead of a hard-to-balance, heavier cart bag)
If you want to buy everything together, including a golf bag, this is one of the best options for a complete set. If you have someone in your life that is just getting started in this great game it’s a fantastic option.
Cobra Aerojet Drivers
When it comes to Cobra drivers, their recent equipment is a top pick among amateur golfers. The Cobra Aerojet driver replaced the successful LTDX drivers from 2022, making them longer and more forgiving than ever. I included this driver in the 7 Most Recommended Golf Drivers for 2023 as it’s so dependable.
One of the biggest perks about Cobra drivers is that there is a club for all types of golfers. The Aerojet is available in three models and is geared toward a specific golfer, which I’ll explain below.
Additionally, each of these models has an adjustable hosel to tweak the lie and loft with the included wrench easily. This allows you to test it out on the range and make adjustments so it’s perfect for your swing.
Cobra Aerojet
The main model in the Aerojet lineup is geared toward mid-handicap golfers who want a mix of forgiveness and distance. This club has a neutral face bias, making it easy to shape a fade or draw off the tee. It also has medium launch and low spin, which is ideal for average swing speeds.
Another benefit of this driver is its three stock shaft choices. Senior golfers and slower-swinging players will benefit more from the UST Helium Nanocore shaft as it’s lightweight (45 grams) and has a high-launch profile. This shaft makes it easy to launch the golf ball high and optimize distance.
More advanced golfers (about 100 mph swing speed) should check out the MCA Kai'li Blue or White shaft instead. These shafts are heavier, which helps optimize spin rates and improve launch for longer distances.
Cobra Aerojet Max
The Max version of the new Cobra driver is better for higher handicappers and golfers who struggle with a slice. No shame, I’ve been there myself — most of us have battled the dreaded slice!
The Max has a higher launch profile, which helps golfers with less swing speed optimize carry distance. It also has a draw bias profile, which should help correct a pesky slice to find more fairways.
The two weight ports and adjustable hosel make this club easier than ever to customize for a high-launching, straighter ball flight. Paired with the premium stock shafts, this club is a top pick for the weekend warrior who wants to hit it more consistently off the tee.
Cobra Aerojet LS
The last option for the Cobra Aerojet series is the LS (low spin) model. This club has less spin than the other two models, which is necessary for faster-swinging golfers.
The forward weights help reduce spin to produce faster ball speeds and maximize carry distance. I hit this club recently and loved how good it felt and the trajectory.
There are lower loft options (including a 7.5-degree option) and heavier, stiffer shafts available as well. If you’re a single-digit handicap this is likely the best Cobra driver for you.
But I’m begging you to not opt for the low loft option as it requires insane speed. Otherwise, you’re just leaving distance on the table and making this challenging game even harder.
Cobra AIR-X Driver
While one of the Cobra Aerojet drivers is likely the best pick for mid- to low-handicap golfers, the AIR-X is better suited for more casual golfers. Similar to the Cobra Aerojet Max, this club has a draw bias built in to help straighten out slices so you can find the short grass more often.
The biggest difference between this driver and the Cobra Aerojet Max is its super-lightweight design. There is no adjustable hosel, allowing for the AIR-X to be lighter and provide effortless distance off the tee.
The offset design and slice-prevention technology make this club about as anti-slice as it gets. So if you’re tired of ending up in the right rough or behind trees all day, this is a phenomenal choice. I got this driver and fairway woods for my dad (a senior golfer with a high handicap), and it helped him gain at least 10 yards off the tee — not to mention hit more fairways too.
Cobra T-Rail Combo Set
Cobra also offers some of the most forgiving golf clubs when it comes to irons and hybrids. The T-Rail set is the largest and most forgiving in their lineup, making it a solid choice for seniors and higher handicappers.
The set includes one hybrid (either 4H or 5H depending on which set you purchase) and hybrid-like super game-improvement irons. These irons are noticeably larger than most irons and are not the right choice for mid- to low-handicap golfers. But if you’re someone who wants as much forgiveness and high launch as possible, these are the clubs for you.
Cobra Air-X Combo Set
These are a slightly less forgiving set than the T-rail and have a more conventional look. If you hate the oversized design of the T-rail, these are a better choice. These clubs provide the same lightweight features as the Air-X driver mentioned above in irons and hybrids.
I bought this set for my dad alongside the Cobra Air-X woods and it made a big difference in his iron game too. These clubs make it easier than ever to improve swing speed and hit it straighter than ever thanks to the heel weighting. Paired with the offset design these clubs are reliably straight and should lead to a lot more birdie putts.
Cobra King Tec Utility Irons
If you’re tired of hard-to-hit long irons, the Cobra King Tec is a perfect alternative. I’m a huge advocate of swapping long irons for utility irons or hybrids as they just make golf a lot easier. Even the pros rarely carry stock 2-, 3-, or 4-irons, instead opting for easier-to-hit, more forgiving utility clubs.
Cobra’s King Tec utility irons are some of the sleekest looking in the market and make it easier than ever for a high launch from any lie. These clubs are definitely a “player’s club,” as they’re not quite as forgiving as a similar pick like the Titleist U505, which has a much larger clubhead.
But the PWRSHELL technology and improved weighting make these clubs easier than traditional long irons. Not to mention the MMT hybrid shaft is only 80 grams and helps improve launch compared to a heavier long iron.
Cobra is also one of the few brands to offer this club (and other irons sets) in single-length irons. You can get this easy-to-hit utility club in a 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-iron. I bet you’ll notice an instant improvement in your long game.
Cobra Snakebite X Wedges
One of the biggest problems with wedges is that most manufacturers don't make them very forgiving. Callaway and Cobra are two of the notable exceptions, and the Snakebite X series is a top pick for mid- to higher handicappers.
Unlike most wedges, these clubs have a cavity-back design for more forgiveness. Another noticeable difference from most wedges is the full-face grooves (on all lofts) that help improve spin even on mishits.
The teardrop-grind feature also makes these clubs easier to hit from the bunkers so you can escape the sand in one shot. Overall I think a lot of everyday golfers can get a ton of benefit from these high-spin, forgiving wedges.
Cobra King 3D Printed Supernova Putter
The final recommendation for the best Cobra golf gear is their King 3D-printed Supernova putter. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how a computer printed this putter!
I’ve tried this putter out several times at a local golf store and can’t believe it’s 3D printed, as it rolls like a high-end, expensive putter. Luckily, this putter won’t break the bank and is one of the best deals when searching for a flat stick to conquer the greens.
The weight distribution makes this a forgiving putter, and I think it’s one of the easiest putters to line up as well. Its SIK Face Technology also ensures a consistent roll for a variety of putting strokes.
If you need some help on the greens, this is one of the best options available.
