The Volcom Men's L GORE-TEX 2L Jacket is an excellent choice for snowboarders seeking a high-quality, versatile jacket without the premium price tag. Featuring GORE-TEX material and taped seams, it excels in waterproofing, ensuring dryness in various conditions. Its underarm vents enhance breathability, efficiently managing heat during active use. The jacket's numerous pockets are practical for easy access to essentials. However, it lacks insulation, making it more suitable for layering rather than standalone warmth. Ideal for those who prefer a functional, streamlined design and require a jacket that can adapt to different weather conditions on the slopes.
Ideal for
- GORE-TEX and taped seams prevent water from getting through
- Underarm vents dump heat
- Plenty of pocket space throughout the jacket for easy access to necessities
Not ideal for
- Not insulated

Expert Reviews of the Volcom Men's L GORE-TEX Jacket
Matt Johnson When I was looking to upgrade my snowboarding jacket, I wanted the following features: waterproofed to the max, a pass pocket on the sleeve for easy scanning, a helmet-compatible hood, vents to dump extra heat, and a sleek look. I'm happy to say that this jacket meets all of those requirements and then some. This jacket's waterproofing is excellent; the quality and fit are second to none. Because of this jacket, I will likely buy more gear from Volcom when upgrading other pieces.

Matt Johnson gave 5 of 5 stars. After outgrowing a smaller jacket that let snow in through every hole, I was searching for one large enough to keep me protected from the elements but not too baggy, where it would feel like I would take off if a gust of wind caught me with my arms spread. The relaxed fit of this jacket falls smack dab in the middle and allows for a full range of motion while I ride without any extra material flapping around. The simple all-black design of the jacket is also very appealing to my taste.

Comfort
5/5
Matt Johnson gave 5 of 5 stars. This jacket features a lot of different ways to customize the fit so that I can find a fit that is comfortable for my specific needs. There are adjustable wrist cuffs to adjust for over or under my mitts and an adjustable hood to fit over my helmet. It even has an adjustable waist strap that can be locked into place if one has compatible Volcom pants. A nice comfort touch is the suede lining on the inside of the chin lining to help prevent chafing.
Warmth
4/5
Matt Johnson gave 4 of 5 stars. I wanted a jacket that would be versatile enough to wear all season long in all conditions. I landed on the Volcom L GORE-TEX because it offers great protection from wind and snow due to its GORE-TEX build, and it isn't lined, making it an excellent jacket for late-season spring runs and when I bundle up on colder days.
Breathability
5/5
Matt Johnson gave 5 of 5 stars. The GORE-TEX material gives the jacket a good base in terms of breathability. When things get a little too steamy on those harder runs, I can open up the mesh-lined underarm vents to dump any excess heat and get some airflow into the jacket.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
Matt Johnson My favorite feature of this jacket is how waterproof it is. Between the GORE-TEX build, taped seams, and wrist and waist gaiters, no snow can find its way into this jacket.
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Matt Johnson My favorite moment with this jacket was doing my first hike run in Park City. I had to hike to the top of the Jupiter in waist-deep powder, and this jacket helped me stay dry the entire time.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Matt Johnson This jacket is a steal. Many other jackets I've seen with similar features (like the 686 GORE-TEX GT) usually go for $100+ more when compared to the Volcom L GORE-TEX.
