The Curated Take
4.0/5
The 2024 Blizzard Brahma 88 skis are excellent for all-mountain skiing, suitable for both beginners and experts. They excel in carving, freestyle, and jumps and offer an exhilarating experience on groomers. With their lightweight design, these skis provide easy turn initiation and high maneuverability. They are playful and durable, able to survive tough conditions over multiple seasons. While they can reach high speeds, their light weight makes them less suitable for constant high-speed skiing. Overall, they are a versatile choice for a wide range of skiing conditions, particularly on the East Coast and in resort settings.
Ideal for
- All-mountain ski that can handle almost anything
- Carving, freestyle, jumps, and packed out glades are all accessible
- Absolute blast on groomers
Not ideal for

Expert Reviews of the Blizzard Brahma 88 Skis
Connor Grillo The Brahma 88 has been my go-to ski for 99% of my ski days for the past three years. The 2024 model refines and updates the things I loved about the previous model years. The ski can be used by a first-timer or an expert who wants to go 60 mph. It handles large jumps and side hits like no one's business and hardly ever catches an edge, even if the landing wasn't perfect. Truly my favorite resort-style quiver killer for many years to come.

Turn Ease
5/5
Connor Grillo gave 5 of 5 stars. The narrow underfoot leads to a lightweight ski, and the lack of a thick metal core also keeps weight down. Pairing these things with the time-tested Brahma parabolics and non-twin-tip rear makes carving and turns very easy to initiate and execute on all snow conditions.
Playfulness
5/5
Connor Grillo gave 5 of 5 stars. These skis ride like more poppy skis, like bent chetlers, while performing better at speed because of the core technology lending itself to a bouncy and energetic ski that never fails to make me smile. I went from going a few feet in the air on side hits on my old Atomics to going almost five feet in the air on the Brahmas. The comfort and confidence the skis give me, paired with their light weight, make for a super playful, fun ski.
Durability
4/5
Connor Grillo gave 4 of 5 stars. The 2021 model lasted me three seasons, including all conditions and plenty of rocks and trees. They have held up better than any other ski in my quiver. The top sheet is super resistant to abrasion and hides scrapes well, and the base layer has survived multiple rock impacts with only minor blemishes.
High Speed Stability
3/5
Connor Grillo gave 3 of 5 stars. These skis will do 60 mph, but those wanting to max out speed constantly may want a thicker, metal ski. I ride as fast as possible on 90% of runs so I can maximize air time on sidehits, but for those wanting regularly to go top speed, a heavier, thicker, metal ski might be better.
Carving
4/5
Connor Grillo gave 4 of 5 stars. The turn radius on these skis is very respectable at 17 meters. This and the lightweight nature of the skis lead to high maneuverability in all snow conditions. Once in a carve, the parabolic and edge dig into the snow or ice very well and allow for super-long, satisfying carves even on steeper terrain
Versatility
5/5
Connor Grillo gave 5 of 5 stars. In my experience, the Brahmas can perform very well on the East Coast in all conditions. On the West Coast and in the Rockies they do bowls and trees with less than eight inches of fresh powder) very well for a narrower ski. Their flotation, because of the 88 underfoot, is the only limitation of this ski's versatility. They will rip ice and groomers, moguls and trees, everything in between.
Flotation
2/5
Connor Grillo gave 2 of 5 stars. Flotation is the holy grail of powder days, and simply boils down to the tip rocker and surface area spreading the weight over a larger amount of snow. These skis have great rocker in the front for float on snow days, but 88 underfoot will always leave a lot to be desired in deep powder.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
Connor Grillo The Blizzard Brahmas are designed with enough sidecut and underfoot at 88 that one can learn on this ski and also take it down double black diamonds. These skis are the equivalent of a mullet: resort groomer in the numbers, super-aggressive, high-speed capability in the technology and materials. The best of both worlds! This ski is also a great way to introduce East Coast narrow ski people to the wider, 85-95 all-mountain underfoot everyone rides out west.
Why did you choose this product?
Connor Grillo I chose the Blizzard Brahmas 2024 because I had ridden other skis made by the same factory, Nordica Enforcers. Blizzard and Nordica have always been quality, long-lasting skis. I tried the Brahmas in 2021, and I'm excited for all the updates with the 2024 year plus the top sheet refresh.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Connor Grillo The bang for your buck with Blizzard products is always there. The binding pairings are endless and the top sheets are very durable. Delamination takes extreme measures, and this means money spent will be safe for years to come, unlike other skis that don't last the test of multiple seasons.
