Expert Reviews of the K2 Reckoner 102 Skis
Lucia L The K2 Reckoner 102 is the go-to ski for someone looking for a fun, poppy, and playful ski to ride in the park. I rode this ski a lot on the days when the upper mountain was closed, and we were limited to the lower mountain and intermediate terrain. The Reckoners made the intermediate terrain my playground. They pop off terrain features, are fun in the park, and flex into smooth, quick turns on the groomers. In terms of float, they do okay, but the 112 Reckoner would be a better option if someone is looking to cruise through the deeper stuff. Overall, it's a really fun ski, especially for those into freestyle and park riding.

Review Ratings
Turn Ease
5/5
Lucia L gave 5 of 5 stars. The K2 Reckoner 102 is very easy to turn and control underfoot. Because of its narrower waist and high level of flex, the ski effortlessly shifts from edge to edge and holds its edge well. Because of the high flex, I think it would also be easy for beginners to get used to turning on these skis.
Playfulness
5/5
Lucia L gave 5 of 5 stars. The K2 Reckoner 102 is one of the most playful skis that I have ridden on. While I can find other skis with similar flex, it's harder to find something that will be as light. The low weight of the ski gives me the extra ability to move the ski as I want weightlessly off booters and hits. The ski pops well, boosting me up and out, and the low weight makes it easy to swing and throw different tricks.
Durability
4/5
Lucia L gave 4 of 5 stars. The K2 Reckoner 102 ski is designed to hold up to park beatings. The reinforced edges and sidewalls increase this ski's life when hitting rails and pipes. I have seen these skis go out countless times in our demo department, and at the end of the season, they were still in top shape. The topsheets got scuffed up easily, but that is purely aesthetic.
High Speed Stability
4/5
Lucia L gave 4 of 5 stars. For their amount of flex and rockered build, the K2 Reckoner 102 holds up pretty well to high-speed conditions. The ski's carbon stringers help dampen bumps and lumps and hold the ski stable. However, this ski is not an all-mountain charger. It shines at lower speed, focusing on tricks and technique in the freestyle world rather than speed.
Carving
4/5
Lucia L gave 4 of 5 stars. Because of the high amount of flex in the K2 Reckoner 102, the ski does pretty well getting on edge and holding a solid carve on intermediate terrain. However, I have taken this ski down steeper groomers on icy days, which turned out to be a pretty hair-raising experience. Because of the less aggressive build and shape of the ski, they don't hold a great edge when carving on ice, meaning that someone will find themselves gliding over the snow and not in the way they want to be.
Versatility
4/5
Lucia L gave 4 of 5 stars. Although designed more for the freestyle or park user, the K2 Reckoner 102 is versatile. The ski does have enough waist to stay afloat in not-too-deep powder. It shifts easily from edge to edge and can easily lay into carves. The ski has a ton of pop that one can also use on side hits and natural features around the mountain. That being said, it's not a super aggressive or hard-charging ski. It could be more stable at high speeds. I would probably buy this ski for its fun and poppiness rather than as an all-mountain ski.
Flotation
4/5
Lucia L gave 4 of 5 stars. At a 102mm waist, the K2 Reckoner 102 offers a solid amount of float, especially for lighter and smaller skiers. The rockered tip of the ski also helps keep the ski afloat when venturing off-piste. However, the amount of float is pretty limited. If the snow is deeper than a foot or so, one will probably find oneself cutting into it rather than staying on top.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
Lucia L What I love about the K2 Reckoner 102 is the amount of flex and play in the ski. I enjoyed using this ski around the lower mountain on more intermediate, naturally flowing terrain. The pop and playfulness of the Reckoners allowed me to pop off all the side hits here and there, while the flexiness of the ski was fun to lean into and make quick turns on. The skis are also light underfoot and hold up decently well on groomers and crud.
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Lucia L My favorite moment with the K2 Reckoners 102 probably had to be skiing at night at Crystal Mountain. We were limited to intermediate and beginner terrain during night skiing, so our focus was shifted to finding side hits and flow on the slopes. These skis were so versatile for night skiing, with enough pop to make the side hits fun and enough flex to lean into the often icier groomers and make quick turns.
Why did you choose this product?
Lucia L I chose the K2 Reckoner because of the amount of flex and play in the ski. My daily driver is very flexy but a heavier ski. I wanted to try something that had a similar amount of flex but also light. The 102 Reckoners definitely fit the bill. They were light, poppy underfoot, and easy to swing around and boost off features. They are pretty close to the definition of "noodle." They were a lot of fun around the mountain since I could lean into them and quickly shift edge to edge.
