VS
Video Transcript
I'm a curated.com Ski Expert and a master boot fitter. Today, we're talking about the Tecnica Mach Sport High Volume 100 versus the Lange LX 110 High Volume with Grip Walk. Both of these boots are wider fitting boots, what we call high volume, and they are both in the 100 to 110 flex category. This makes them ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers looking for a boot that's not super stiff. They both share Grip Walk, which is a rockered shape of the toe that makes it easier to roll and walk on.
Tecnica Mach Sport HV 100 Ski Boots
Tecnica sets itself apart in this category by having a really high-quality liner and FS. You can see the little tag on it. They have what they call a calf adaptive system. There's a lot of adjustment that we can do in the calf of the Tecnica. They have these unique divots that you'll see all over the boot. This highlights ergonomic zones where a boot fitter, if needed, can create more space, like if you have a particularly sensitive ankle or what's called the navicular bone. If you have hammer toes or bunions, Tecnica is very good for a little bit more of a triangle shape, but it's also good for a flatter across the top foot.
I actually have very wide feet myself and I ski in a Mach Sport High Volume 100 Flex a lot of the time when I'm looking for a more comfortable resort boot. There's a lot of value packed into it and a lot of technology that makes it a fantastic boot for an intermediate to advanced skier looking for a boot that's going to last for a super long time.

Lange LX 110 HV GW Ski Boots
Now, jumping over here, the Lange LX 110 High Volume killer boot has a notably tighter heel than a lot of other boots and also has an ergonomic toe box, which is great because your heel is where a lot of your control in a ski boot comes from. The fact that you can still get a nice wider fit, especially if you have wide toes or large caps, but still have a nice compliant heel box that allows you to really steer a ski with confidence, makes this a great option.
This 110 flex is also a really nice sweet spot, a little bit more than a 90 to 100 but not quite as demanding as a 124 or 130 Flex boot. It has a really nice Grip Walk, this rugged rockered toe shape that gives you more traction and allows you to move your feet more naturally. You have tons of adjustments in the buckles. You can actually see right here how this buckle has a silver backing. You can twist and slide it over and lock it out to get more room on the ladder. This is great if you have a particularly wide calf.

Similarities and Differences
Both boots offer plenty of custom molding options if needed. But what's most important, more than the boot itself a lot of the times, is the boot fitter that's putting you into the boot and educating you about what's a good fit, why it's a good fit, and what adjustments can be made if needed. They also teach you how to use your boot correctly because a boot out of the box is just a blank canvas, so to speak.
