The Curated Take
4.6/5
The Blizzard Sheeva 9 Skis (2023) are versatile all-mountain skis suitable for advanced to expert skiers. These lightweight skis are easy to turn and offer a lively and playful ride feel. They perform well in various conditions, including moguls, trees, and some powder. While they aren't ideal for deep powder days, they excel in most other situations. With good durability and the ability to handle frontside skiing, they are true all-mountain skis, making them a dependable choice for those looking for a versatile skiing experience.

Expert Reviews of the Blizzard Sheeva 9 Skis
Daniela A The Blizzard Sheeva 9 is my favorite ski in my quiver and the one I most often take out with me to the mountain. I use it at home on the East Coast and trips to Colorado and Utah. It is lightweight, easy to turn, and carves surprisingly well for its shape. It can handle a variety of conditions well and floats decently in some powder. It's a great ski for moguls, trees, and to slash through crud. It is a more aggressive ski than the Blizzard 88, so I recommend it for an advanced to expert skier versus a beginner/intermediate skier.

Turn Ease
5/5
Daniela A gave 5 of 5 stars. The Sheeva 9 is relatively quick and easy to turn. Other skis in my quiver demand to be placed on edge, but I find the Sheevas more playful, and I don't necessarily need to carve with them all day. That being said, I love to carve, and these do so well. I can get some nice sweeping turns and quick short turns.
Playfulness
5/5
Daniela A gave 5 of 5 stars. The Sheeva 9 is a poppy, lively, playful ski I enjoy in various conditions. It can carve, it can go over bumps/moguls, and I can take it through the trees. While the 92 waist width isn't the widest, it does well with a bit of powder.
Durability
5/5
Daniela A gave 5 of 5 stars. The topsheet on each ski has stood the test of time (and runs on the mountain). It is not easy to chip/crack compared to other skis I own. While I wouldn't necessarily use it as my "rock" ski, it has done well in those dismal low-snow New England conditions.
High Speed Stability
4/5
Daniela A gave 4 of 5 stars. The Sheeva 9 is relatively stable at speed but can be somewhat chattery on steeps. However, I want to note that I own the ski in a length that is a bit shorter (164) than I'd like (172), and I think I'd get less chatter on the longer size.
Carving
4/5
Daniela A gave 4 of 5 stars. The Sheeva 9 is not a traditional carver/carving ski, but it carves surprisingly well for a freeride all-mountain ski. With a 92mm waist width, it performs very well when dialing up the speed and laying it on edge. I can enjoy both short quick turns and wide sweeping turns.
Versatility
5/5
Daniela A gave 5 of 5 stars. The Sheeva 9 handles frontside skiing, moguls, and trees well and can hold its own in a bit of powder. It's an energetic and dependable ski, and because of its lightweight, I know some women who also use it for touring.
Flotation
4/5
Daniela A gave 4 of 5 stars. Being the narrowest of the Sheeva line, the Sheeva 9 won't float as much as the Sheeva 10 or 11. It does well with several inches of snow, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a deep powder day. I love it on groomers and in some crud.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
Daniela A The Blizzard Sheeva is my favorite ski in my quiver and the one I most often use. It's relatively lightweight, easy to turn, and handles a variety of conditions. My legs never feel tired when I'm on the Sheevas.
Why did you choose this product?
Daniela A I chose the Sheevas because they can do most things well, and I needed a ski that could handle the hardpack in New England and something for my trips out West with a bit more snow but was light enough to travel with.
