The Curated Take
4.8/5
The Mizuno M.Craft Type III Putter is ideal for golfers seeking precision on short putts. Its blade-like feel and substantial weight provide great feedback and accuracy on putts inside 20 feet. The putter offers excellent out-of-the-box alignment, making it easy to find one's line. Its dense material and well-crafted design allow for feedback even on slight mishits. However, it may be less suitable for longer putts, as some users found it challenging to aim accurately at longer distances. Overall, it's a top pick for golfers looking for a putter with exceptional accuracy and feel on short to mid-range putts.

- Very accurate on short putts

Expert Reviews of the Mizuno M.Craft Type III Putter
Calvin Max I came upon the Mizuno M.Craft Type III Putter recently and couldn’t help but test it out. I have a shortage of experience with blades and mid mallets but recently have been thinking about making a switch, so I have been checking out putters I previously never looked twice at. The M.Craft certainly wasn’t easy to miss.
The deep black and near-matte finish gives this putter a futuristic look, and the subtle styling lends itself to the same motif. It is a mallet, but the size is not offensive. It looks compact at address and doesn’t take more than its fair share of bag room.
The most impressive thing about this putter was how easy it was to get it on line and how crazy good it was from inside 20 feet. Curiously, I needed help keeping my line past 20 to 30 feet. It seemed like I wanted to pull everything left with this putter at a longer distance. The putter maintains its high review numbers in that while my missed putts were off line, they still ended up feet from the hole. When it wasn’t perfect, it was great.

5/5
Calvin Max gave 5 of 5 stars. When I set this putter down at the address for the first time, I was honestly puzzled at how it always seemed perfectly on line. Aiming with the Type III is a dream, and I say that as someone who really struggled with finding my line, let alone staying on it with any reliability.
Grip
4/5
Calvin Max gave 4 of 5 stars. Grips these days have become fairly standardized. The only thing I can really complain about is the styling and, occasionally, the quantity of a variant available. Regarding this putter, I have absolutely nothing to complain about. I tested a black pistol grip that I enjoyed, but I wish it had an extra wrap underneath.
Forgiveness
5/5
Calvin Max gave 5 of 5 stars. How bad are my bad putts? It is a fairly straightforward metric to quantify. But with this, it’s hard to tell because the putter swings so slowly and with such an even pendulum that I virtually never mispower a putt. It aligns so well that the line is never any trouble, either. My only misses come from really over-hit putts.
Feel
5/5
Calvin Max gave 5 of 5 stars. I have found that the Type III has an exceptionally dense material and is so well crafted that I feel that I can still locate slight mishits.
Balance
5/5
Calvin Max gave 5 of 5 stars. The Type III is exceptionally well balanced. And by that, I mean dead-level face-balanced bliss, which translates to a face that is virtually impossible to twist. I swing with a mechanical pendulum-like stroke, and I simply love the balance on this putter, both the face and overall feel in my hands.
