The Curated Take
4.8/5
The Srixon ZX5 MKII Irons are an excellent choice for mid-handicap golfers seeking a combination of distance, accuracy, and workability in their shots. These irons provide a decent level of forgiveness, making them suitable for players who want to enhance their game with more control and precision. Although not the most forgiving in its category, they offer impressive power and consistent performance, beneficial for intermediate to advanced golfers. The ZX5 MKIIs are also recommended for low-handicap players who appreciate the blend of a sleek look, control, and the ability to shape shots like draws and fades.

Expert Reviews of the Srixon ZX5 MK II Irons
Mike Kolden The Srixon ZX5 MKII is an excellent iron for any mid-handicap (10-19) player looking for accuracy, feel, and distance. These clubs are ideal for golfers who want a distance iron that offers decent forgiveness, an impressive amount of power and control, and consistent performance. While forgiveness is a con with the Srixon ZX5 MKII, it is by no means a knock on the club; it is still forgiving enough to be used by mid-handicappers.
I also recommend the ZX5 MKIIs to low-handicap (5-9) players, but I think lower handicappers (1-4) would prefer the ZX7 MKII due to the compact look and additional workability.
From my experience, I can hit any type of shot with the ZX5 MKIIs. Whether I want to hit a draw, fade, or a high and straight shot, this club allows me to do so. I tend to miss toward the toe, and I still get all the distance I need.
The Srixon ZX5 MKIIs are irons that 5-19 handicappers should consider adding to their bag.

Review Ratings
Forgiveness
4/5
Mike Kolden gave 4 of 5 stars. When I think of forgiveness, I think of game improvement irons, but these player's distance irons offer forgiveness. I am giving these 4/5 stars because there are more forgiving irons on the market, but I notice I still hit great shots even though I know I did not strike the ball well.
Workability
5/5
Mike Kolden gave 5 of 5 stars. If someone wants to shape their shot with a fade or draw, the ZX5 MKIIs offer ultimate control over the golf ball. While these irons are meant to be hit high and straight, I can flight them down if necessary. The Tour VT Sole of the ZX5 MKII irons encourages a smooth glide through all playing conditions, allowing for all types of shots.
Feel
5/5
Mike Kolden gave 5 of 5 stars. The forged feel of these irons allows for optimal feedback and responsiveness. Pure strikes make a pure sound. I opted for the KBS Tour Lite shaft because it allows me to swing the ball smoothly to compress it, thus getting the most out of this club's feel. I recommend getting fitted for a shaft to maximize this club's feel and overall consistency.
Sound
5/5
Mike Kolden gave 5 of 5 stars. Because these are forged irons, one will quickly notice a crisp, satisfying sound when struck reasonably. Hand-in-hand with feel, golfers will immediately see whether they struck the ball well. However, off-center strikes still sound solid and satisfying.
Distance
5/5
Mike Kolden gave 5 of 5 stars. Srixon ZX5 MKIIs are not the longest player's distance irons on the market, but golfers can expect consistency. Toe strikes still obtain nice yardages. Lofts are not as strong as others in their category, so one will lose some distance from the competition. The ZX5 MKIIs have a beautiful trajectory with just enough spin to hold the greens.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
Mike Kolden I love my Srixon ZX5 MKII Irons because they check every box. Their sleek look at address and game improvement-like forgiveness gives me plenty of confidence to strike the ball well. If I slightly mishit the ball, I know I will reach the distances I seek. When struck well, they give me a satisfyingly crisp sound that feels excellent. I can confidently work the ball in either direction (fade, draw). The combination of distance, feel, forgiveness, and workability makes this set a no-brainer.
Why did you choose this product?
Mike Kolden I chose the Srixon ZX5 MKII Irons because they offer game improvement features for player's clubs. The exceptional feel, on top of its sleek looks, makes these irons suitable for mid-handicap golfers. Low-handicap players who need some forgiveness could also be successful with this iron. I tend to miss towards the toe, but I notice I do not lose distance, and I can still work the ball in either direction. While testing the ZX5 MKIIs, I knew I had to purchase these irons.
