The Curated Take
4.4/5
The Jones Mind Expander snowboard is ideal for riders who enjoy playful and lively rides on hard slopes and great flotation in powder. Its innovative design with a small contact patch and a wider nose than tail, combined with bamboo in the core, provides excellent edge hold and maneuverability. However, it may feel uneasy in hard snow because of its shape and flex. This board is especially suitable for riders who like to experiment with different styles of shots, which makes it an ideal choice for those who enjoy a versatile and creative snowboarding experience.

Expert Reviews of the Jones Mind Expander Snowboard
Leonid Cha This is a different board compared to the ones from previous seasons. This is a cool snowboard that has become a staple board in my arsenal. It was previously a rocker snowboard, which surprised me even then. This snowboard has perfect balance. Like other Jones boards, there is a spoon that works like the bow of a ship, cutting through soft snow easily but not affecting the effective edge length on hard slopes. This makes its behavior on hard slopes fun and lively. The snowboard's small contact patch with the slope makes it maneuverable. On a hard slope it feels short, fun, and lively. It's perfect for freestyle. There is a 2cm difference in nose and tail width, which makes it great in soft snow. There is dual-axis fiberglass inside, which means the board is not too clingy. The feel of the Jones snowboards is strong and reliable. In the catalog, the stiffness is stated as a 6 out of 10 on the Jones scale. But in reality, it's more like 7.5-8 depending on the selected height. This model is not as soft as it may seem at first glance. It will suit those with more weight or those who ride on-piste and in puffy snow.

Turn Ease
4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. This new Mind Expander has it all in terms of updating the camber, which makes turning feel like a breeze. It feels like they know what I want. It’s a champ in tight spots, which makes quick, sharp corners a cakewalk. This particularly applied when moving through a row of trees because it just flowed smoothly.
Flotation
5/5
Leonid Cha gave 5 of 5 stars. This board is a total winner in powder. A wider nose really assists it in floating on top of the snow. Such deep snow days feel like gliding on clouds. A best pal on powder day. When I'm picking up some speed, it's a great board for it.
Versatility
5/5
Leonid Cha gave 5 of 5 stars. It works with soft, fluffy snow and harder slopes. The nose cuts through soft snow like a dream, and it’s even fun on the harder ones. On different terrains it behaves how it should, and every other feature on this board complements it almost perfectly. If this is your first Jones board, pick a newer one because every season the stiffness is different.
Carving
4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. The Mind Expander provides extremely smooth carving. They seem so clean and precise because they are gripped by the snow just right. It has a good edge hold that makes nice, crisp turns and feels like carving perfect lines in the snow. I think with some customization it'd be perfect.
High Speed Stability
4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. Going fast on this board feels safe and stable. It doesn’t get shaky or weird. Even at higher speeds, it keeps its cool, which gives me a ton of confidence to push it a bit more each time. Great for those who like a bit of speed in their ride.
Durability
4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. The bamboo and dual-axis fiberglass in the core make it strong and durable. I've taken it on some rough rides, and it’s doing great. It's not one of those boards to worry about beating up a bit. This board’s tough as nails. I didn't see any damage on the top sheet either.
Playfulness
5/5
Leonid Cha gave 5 of 5 stars. This board? It's all about fun. It has a little contact patch and therefore behaves like a puppy that plays on the slopes — very sporting and freestyles at all times. On steep slopes, it doesn’t feel stiff or boring. This has a “let's do it” attitude, and any ride ends up a blast.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
Leonid Cha What I love about the Mind Expander is how it turns every ride into an adventure. It's versatile and stable, and I'm enjoying every moment with this board. It gives me confidence.
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Leonid Cha The best time I had with the Jones Mind Expander? It was this one morning, fresh snow everywhere, just me and the board. The way it cut through the powder, it felt like we were floating. Every turn was smooth — the board just got me. I felt like I was flying down the mountain, not a soul around, just pure freedom. That ride was something else, man. Never felt anything like it before. This board's something special.
Why did you choose this product?
Leonid Cha This is not a normal board, but it is a changer, especially after the 2022 changes. Handling different kinds of snow, such as soft powder or harder slopes, is quite impressive. Moreover, its symmetrical design with improved camber profile enhances maneuverability while turning or carving in such a way that it feels natural and enjoyable. The board is also durable. The Mind Expander is a good fit for somebody who has a fondness for both freestyle and all-mountain riding. It’s as if they saw how I ride beforehand.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Leonid Cha It is like riding a luxury car in terms of comfort, yet it does not cost as much as other boards. It is strong, flexible, and simply a blast to ride in numerous conditions. This is a good pick for those who spend much of their day on the slopes and want boards that can match their pace. Of course, cheaper ones can be found. However, none of them comes as close to matching the Mind Expander for fun, performance, and quality.
