The Flylow Women's Sphynx 2L insulated bib pants are ideal for women who struggle to find snow pants that fit well, especially those with a larger thigh-to-waist ratio. They excel in providing exceptional warmth and are equipped with Intuitive Fabrics for durability and effective waterproofing. These pants offer comfort and ease of movement, allowing for a wide range of motion in various skiing conditions. Their heavy insulation makes them less suitable for warmer tours or high-exertion activities, but their zippers and vents offer convenience and breathability. They are a reliable choice for skiers seeking protection in cold and wet conditions.

Expert Reviews of the Flylow Women's Sphynx 2L Insulated Bib Pants
Claire L Before I tried out these snow pants, I genuinely thought I'd never find any that fit me correctly. When I tried these on, I immediately knew I needed them. As someone with a smaller waist compared to my hips and thighs, I'd always had issues with snow pants, but these fit me PERFECTLY. They are incredibly warm (I took them in sub-zero temps in Minnesota and they were awesome) and hold up against water pretty well. They're not Goretex, so they will get wet if there's a lot of water, but I've never had any issues with snow, even wet snow. They also have zippers that go up the sides of the pants, so I can maneuver anything below the knee and get some airflow with ease. They are insulated, so they're pretty heavy, and I probably wouldn't take them on any warmer tours or spring skiing days, but for all other ski days, I can't recommend these pants nearly enough.

Review Ratings
Waterproofing
4/5
Claire L gave 4 of 5 stars. I've skied in powder, heavy snow, sleet, and even rain, and these pants have kept me dry through it all! They're made from Flylow's waterproofing trademark, Intuitive Fabrics, a light, breathable fabric that works as a waterproofing shell over the insulating layers. My only qualm with the "lack" of waterproofing is the fact that the material can still get wet, but it never soaks through.
Durability
5/5
Claire L gave 5 of 5 stars. The material that the pants are made of is Intuitive Fabrics, and it has to be some of the strongest material out there. I've taken these pants through trees, on extremely brittle snow, through sleet, in water, and I've stuffed them in with a variety of gear, and there's no evidence that they've even been used. The zippers near the boots are still fully functional even after years of me ripping them up and down, and all of the buckles are still intact. I can't recommend these pants enough for their durability.
Comfort
5/5
Claire L gave 5 of 5 stars. Being a woman who skis, I naturally have a disproportionate lower half. While my top half is anywhere from a S/M size, my hips and legs typically fall around a M/L size. I had so many issues with snow pants before I found these pants. They fit my hips perfectly and aren't too baggy on my shoulders and chest while still allowing me to move around. I absolutely adore these pants.
Warmth
5/5
Claire L gave 5 of 5 stars. Picture this: Christmas day in northern Minnesota; it's -35 degrees Fahrenheit. I only brought these snow pants home from college, so I have no choice but to wear them skiing. After my ski day, I would've paid to wear these that day. With the incredible insulation and Intuitive Fabrics outer layer, these pants kept me extremely warm all day, even while sitting on a metal chairlift. They are incredibly reliable for those cold winter days.
Ease of Movement
5/5
Claire L gave 5 of 5 stars. After growing up in speed suits as a ski racer, loose, comfortable ski gear is high on my wish list. These pants let me move in every way, from squatting to lunges to sitting criss-cross applesauce, I can move comfortably in every direction. I'm 5'4" and they are a little bit long on me, but it's super easy to just roll them an inch or two to keep them away from my edges.
Breathability
3/5
Claire L gave 3 of 5 stars. These pants are so great for cold and warm days alike, but for activities like touring or anything that causing heavy sweating, I'd opt for a lighter pant. While these pants are breathable, they're just incredibly insulated and might feel burdensome in direct sunlight, warmer temperatures, or heavy exertion. They have some mesh on the back and hips that help with any upper body sweating as well.
FAQs
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Claire L As someone who is pretty frugal with my ski gear, this is probably one of the best purchases I've bought brand new.
What do you love about this product?
Claire L I love that I've finally found comfortable, durable, insulated snow pants that fit my proportions. For women who struggle to find pants that fit hips, thighs, and waist, then look no further than this. I've never regretted buying these pants for a moment, and I genuinely recommend them to anyone looking for snow pants, especially to people with my proportions.
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Claire L This is a tough one ... I think my favorite moment with these pants was in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It was still early season (beginning of December), and they'd just opened up the backside of the mountain. The powder was almost waist deep, and when I tell you we skied all day, we literally skied from first chair to last call. The snow was amazing, and my pants kept me warm and dry for the entire day.
Why did you choose this product?
Claire L I chose this product because I needed insulated snow pants that weren't racing snow pants. I got extremely lucky when I chose these specific ones, and now I know I won't be buying any other type of pants. These are going to be a stable of my ski gear from now on.
