The Curated Take
4.0/5
The Jones Frontier Snowboard is ideal for riders who enjoy versatile, all-around performance across different snow conditions. With a medium flex and symmetrical shape, it caters to various riding styles, from groomers to powder. The hybrid camber enhances this versatility, supporting both freestyle and freeriding. It's robust and durable, designed for aggressive riding. However, it has a few downsides, such as a topsheet that's prone to damage and a somewhat heavy build. Suitable for both beginner and advanced riders, this board offers excellent value for its price, providing a balance of playfulness, stability, and adaptability.

Expert Reviews of the Jones Frontier Snowboard
Leonid Cha First of all, it's a medium-flex board. Here, we see a six on the stiffness scale, a good golden mean!
The shape is twin type. It's not a 100% twin, by the width of the nose and the tail, it's almost symmetrical. There's a slight setback of two centimeters, which makes the nose longer by two centimeters. It's an ideal option for resort riding and jumping, as the tail shapes are absolutely identical. The nose has a slightly elongated shape, and the tail is fairly blunt. But these are such minor details that there is no imbalance in riding. Flat freestyle? Welcome!
It's a camber rocker. The nose rocker is more pronounced, which will allow the small camber to be comfortably perceived by people who are just starting to snowboard. Also, it won't feel like a "bucket," unlike a rocker in the middle. There's a slight spoon shape at the tails, and core is good, quite powerful.
The top sheet is prone to mechanical damage. Near the tails, sometimes the top sheet starts to peel off in strips. This isn't a big issue and can easily be fixed with epoxy.
It's suitable for almost all conditions, except for very specific critical moments like jibbing or extreme powder freeriding.
Erik Eisenbarth To start, I'm absolutely smitten with the topsheet design. It's even more breathtaking when it catches the sunlight. I took this board all over the mountain, cruising through trees, carving groomers, and hitting park features. The 3D shape adds a surfy sensation in powder, and the edge hold? Simply excellent.
Coasting down the mountain is a thrill with the fast and durable sintered base. With a medium flex, this board is a sweet spot for intermediate to advanced riders. The versatility it offers is unmatched, seamlessly adapting to various terrains.
What blows my mind is the affordability paired with the unbelievable performance. It's not just a board; it's a steal. If I had to stick with one board, no questions asked, this would be it.

Turn Ease
4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. Ease of turning is Jones Frontier’s strong suit, based on personal experience. The medium flex and twin-like shape can make easy turn initiation and transition, perfect for carving groomed runs or threading through tight trees. The board’s agility is especially evident during fast and successive turns wherein they react quickly and precisely to rider command.
Erik Eisenbarth gave 4 of 5 stars. This board is pretty easy to turn. Ideal for intermediate to advanced riders, the medium flex is the ideal balance for effortless turns. It's probably a little too stiff to turn for brand-new riders. The board is surprisingly nimble at slower speeds and quick from edge to edge. I am never worried about catching an edge.
Durability
3/5
Leonid Cha gave 3 of 5 stars. The Frontier is inconsistent when it comes to durability. It is sturdily built with a solid core construction for traversing different terrains without struggle. But the top sheet is prone to mechanical damage (like chips and scrapes) especially when hitting lifts or accidental collisions. This problem can be solved by regular maintenance.
Playfulness
4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. One characteristic of the Frontier worth noting is its playful nature. Its design is stable yet flexible and creates a fun and dynamic ride. The board feels alive underfoot to butter on groomers or simply pop off small natural features. The playful nature invokes confidence in riders to attempt new tricks and explore a freestyle approach, spanning the mountain.
Erik Eisenbarth gave 4 of 5 stars. The Jones Frontier is a pretty playful board for its flex, but not as playful as some softer flexed boards I've ridden. This board is tipped a little more on the freeride side of all mountain boards, and it shows while riding it. It doesn't feel squirrely underneath me, but it's still easy to turn at slow speeds and stable at high speeds.
High Speed Stability
4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. High-speed stability is reassuring for riders who push their limits as this board feels solid and grounded even at high speeds. This is where the hybrid camber comes in, forming a solid platform for the absorption of vibrations that holds the edges while maintaining a steady ride on hardpack or carving turns.
Erik Eisenbarth gave 4 of 5 stars. The Jones Frontier Snowboard is a thrilling and confident ride down the mountain. With its medium flex, this board excels at maintaining stability even at higher speeds. I did experience some chatter when riding through cruddy and tracked snow, but it was manageable, and I didn't feel like I would get bucked off.
Carving
4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. It's a wonderful tool for carving. Its edge hold on the board is amazing, gnawing on hardpack and ice alike. A medium-flex profile with a deep sidecut enables controlled carves that instill faith in riders to lean into their turns. Carving is one of the board’s exceptional attributes because it is a natural transition from edge to edge.
Erik Eisenbarth gave 4 of 5 stars. The edge tech Jones built into the board really helps it lock into its carves. It basically gives riders more contact points like a serrated knife. It won't lay into super deep carves, but it's relatively good at carving. It doesn't feel washy at all, and the 3D shape helps it flow from edge to edge.
Flotation
4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. The nose rocker of the Frontier, as well as a decent setback stance, provide decent flotation in powder. It does well in moderately good conditions for powder that make nice off-piste excursions.
Erik Eisenbarth gave 4 of 5 stars. The Frontier has a directional rocker profile, which helps it float in powder and keeps that nose up to keep it from digging in. The 3D shape has a fun, surfy feel when riding it, especially in powder. The board also features a blunt nose, which allows it to float through powder instead of plowing through.
Versatility
5/5
Leonid Cha gave 5 of 5 stars. When it comes to versatility, the Frontier surpasses expectations. It handles various snow conditions and terrains. The board adapts to groomers, off-piste, and park. This makes it a good choice for riders who need one board that can be used for freestyle and freeriding. Jones boards are generally good when it comes to multitasking.
Erik Eisenbarth gave 5 of 5 stars. The board's versatility is its greatest feature. I wouldn't mind keeping it as my only board. It is easy to go into the trees, moguls, and lay carves while charging down the mountain. I can even send it through the park with some style. Riding switch on this board doesn't feel that weird, either.
FAQs
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Leonid Cha It has an exceptional price-to-value ratio, considering the fact that it performs well in various weather conditions. The board is an excellent purchase for both beginner and advanced riders who are looking for a dependable all-mountain model that boasts equal doses of playfulness, stability, and adaptability at its price point.
What do you love about this product?
Leonid Cha I absolutely love the Jones Frontier. It's made for any kind of snow, you know? Cruising on trails or cutting through fresh powder, it just feels so right. The flex is just perfect — not too stiff, not too soft. And it's got this cool look every season, which is pretty awesome.
Erik Eisenbarth I love the versatility of this board. It can easily take on the entire mountain. Also, I can't stop looking at the topsheet design. It's great.
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Leonid Cha One of my best days with the Jones Frontier Snowboard was on deep powder. I was impressed by the board’s float: It slid across the snow as if there was no gravity at all. It was like cutting through untouched snow with a warm knife and perfectly answered each turn. That was one of those days when I was in harmony with the board, and I will never forget it. That magic has been a good reminder in every ride since then.
Why did you choose this product?
Leonid Cha The Jones Frontier Snowboard 2024 is a real all-arounder, which is why I chose it. The medium flex is really great, and it’s not hard and yet it doesn’t seem flimsy. Great for shredding powders and the park. It has this twin-like shape that is awesome for control and a hybrid camber that works very well in powder. It is Jones board and I can be sure of its quality. Yes, the sheets at the top can tear off, but that can be fixed. That’s massive for me, because in my opinion, this board gets a lot of bang for the buck.
Erik Eisenbarth I have always been a fan of Jones boards and the prospect of a board that could do it all at an affordable price.
