The Curated Take
4.6/5
The Cobra LTDx MAX Fairway Wood is an excellent choice for players seeking forgiveness and draw bias to combat slice tendencies. It features draw bias weighting and PWR COR technology for a square clubface at impact, promoting higher ball speeds and maximizing carry distance. The club offers a soft yet responsive feel, and its forgiveness on off-center hits benefits golfers of all skill levels. While it may be less workable for shot shaping, it provides maximum distance and high launch. It is a valuable addition to any golfer's bag, especially for those looking to correct their ball flight.

Expert Reviews of the Cobra LTDx MAX Fairway Wood
Matt Jones Cobra has done it again with affordability and reliable performance. The LTDx MAX has a beautiful look at address; one can get it in a blueish hue finish on the crown. This club has draw bias weighting to help the face rotate closed faster and promote higher ball speeds because of a square clubface at impact. The LTDx MAX series helps more moderate swing speeds launch the ball higher and add a little spin to maximize carry distance. With PWR COR technology, it’s forgiving across the face. This is a modern-looking club with modern technology at an affordable price.

Feel
5/5
Matt Jones gave 5 of 5 stars. When I strike the ball, it feels almost effortless to smash the ball. When I mishit the ball, the club is soft and not punishing, but when I find the center, it feels like absolute butter. Cobra nailed the weighting on the club. It's light enough to swing fast but heavy enough to maintain tempo.
Sound
5/5
Matt Jones gave 5 of 5 stars. I would describe the noise as crisp and pure. The sound is more of a muted "cling." It's loud enough to know I hit it but not obnoxious.
Forgiveness
5/5
Matt Jones gave 5 of 5 stars. If I hit this club on the toe or the heel low or high on the face, the ball speeds stay hot in all areas. This greatly benefits players of all skill levels, as no one can find the center every time, and it just makes it easier to get the maximum distance when I don't swing perfectly.
Workability
3/5
Matt Jones gave 3 of 5 stars. This club has an offset on the hosel at address. It also has sole weighting that is heavier in the heel and lighter in the toe. The idea is that as the club comes through impact, the toe will be lighter and rotate closed more quickly. The weight in the heel will make the club rotate closed more slowly. Golfers who naturally draw the ball will probably want to look at the regular model, not the MAX.
Distance
5/5
Matt Jones gave 5 of 5 stars. This club is designed to be long and forgiving across the face. Mission accomplished. And when I hit the ball in the center of the club, it explodes with a high launch and a good amount of spin to stay airborne for as long as possible. The draw bias helps the ball turn over for maximum rollout. The LTDx MAX is one of the highest launching and longest carry 3 woods I have tested.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
Matt Jones I love its looks and forgiveness. This club looks great at address. I really like the blue crown. It's flashy and inspires confidence. The blue allows me to make smooth swings to help me find the fairway. "MAX" stands for maximum forgiveness on off-center hits. The LTDx MAX also has draw bias weighting in the sole, allowing the toe of the club to rotate closed faster to help the natural slicer of the ball. The extra height the MAX version supplies allows me to hit high shots into greens that will hold.
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Matt Jones My favorite moment with this club was hitting a par 5 in two shots. The green had a creek in front, so I needed to hit it high to carry it. I hit a shot to about 10 feet and was able to 2 putt for birdie.
Why did you choose this product?
Matt Jones I wanted a club that was forgiving and high launching. Cobra has a great track record for drivers and affordable clubs. It was an ideal balance for me to try. I love this club. Since I have a natural draw, I may go to the regular model. Otherwise, I have nothing but good things to say about this club.
