The Airblaster Beast 2L Insulated Jacket is an excellent choice for those seeking comfort, warmth, and value in their winter jacket. It is ideal for various winter conditions and has a soft and supple "Blaster Fit" and Eco-Vortex fabric made from recycled polyester. The 40g Primaloft insulation balances warmth and bulkiness, while the 30k mm waterproofing keeps one dry. It offers a great blend of price and performance for those looking to have fun while staying warm and dry in the winter.

Expert Reviews of the Airblaster Beast 2L Insulated Jacket
Jason R The Airblaster Beast is my go-to jacket for any winter weather conditions. This versatile jacket is very comfortable and feels good. It's not too stiff like many other jackets with 30k waterproofing. The 40g Primaloft packable insulation has the highest warmth-to-weight ratio. It helps cut that cold breeze without leading to overheating when hiking or riding extra hard. Comfy and stretchy wrist gators keep the snow out of the sleeves. Zippers run smoothly; pocket placement and mesh-lined underarm vents are on point. It comes in a wide range of colorways, running from crazy to lazy. This is my top jacket recommendation for the best balance between price and performance.

Review Ratings
Comfort
5/5
Jason R gave 5 of 5 stars. The jacket's "Blaster Fit" and the Eco-Vortex fabric (made from recycled polyester) come together to make this incredibly comfortable coat. Unlike many other jackets with a 30k waterproof rating, this jacket feels soft and supple, not stiff and ridged. The soft interior feels welcoming on my bare chin when zipped all the way up.

4/5
Jason R gave 4 of 5 stars. The Airblaster Beast 2L Insulated Jacket has a very classic and timeless look. They've mixed things up a bit for the 2024 model by adding a subtle two-tone coloring to the hood area. As usual, it's tailored with the "Blaster Fit," which provides a relaxed full coverage fit with standard front and back lengths. Minus one star because the hood does not accommodate my helmet.
Waterproofing
4/5
Jason R gave 4 of 5 stars. The Airblaster Beast 2L Insulated Jacket utilizes two-layer laminated Eco-Vortex fabric with 100% recycled polyester and carries a 30k mm waterproofing rating. It also has fully taped seams and is treated with a Rudolph Bio finish 80/50 FC free eco DWR. All of these elements have come together to keep me dry when I'm out in the elements.
Durability
4/5
Jason R gave 4 of 5 stars. I've never had any issues with this jacket ripping, tearing, or wearing out. I ride hard, and I'm hard on my gear, and this jacket continues to look and feel good. Zippers, hood, and cuff adjustments have held up. The only real drawback is when the Velcro wrist cuffs get buggered up with snow; they no longer stick together until they're thoroughly cleaned back out, at least.
Warmth
5/5
Jason R gave 5 of 5 stars. This jacket has enough insulation to keep me warm without adding any bulk or volume. The 40g Primaloft packable insulation provides the highest warmth-to-weight ratio and helps keep me cozy when the temps start dropping, or the wind starts howling.
Breathability
4/5
Jason R gave 4 of 5 stars. This jacket isn't the most breathable on the market or even within the Airblaster line; however, the balance of warmth and breathability is notable. It's not the top jacket for spring riding or skimo racing, yet it is plenty breathable for most active winter undertakings. Its breathability rating is 20k grams per square meter, and it has some easy-to-reach mesh-lined underarm vents that let the breeze in while keeping the snow out.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
Jason R What I love the most about this jacket is how incredibly comfortable it is. The fabric is nice and soft plus the fit is just right for me. I'm 5’9” and 160lbs (same as Kelly Slater), and I wear a large.
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Jason R One of my favorite moments with this jacket was taking my dog, Stormie, up to Artist Point just outside of the Mt. Baker Ski Area. We built a pretty fun jump with a good crew, and Stormie was a good dog.
Why did you choose this product?
Jason R I chose this jacket for the balance of waterproofing and comfort. Many of the jackets rated with 30k waterproofing are super stiff or ridged and, despite keeping me dry, don’t always feel that great to wear.
