My name's Leo a curated.com Ski Expert and a master boot fitter. Today, we're talking about the Nordica Cruise 100 boots and the K2 BFC 100 boots.
Nordica Cruise 100 Ski Boots
Let's start with the Cruise, which is a really good value for a boot with a 100 Flex. It's ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers. This is a very wide fit boot, what we call a High Volume Plus. If you scroll down here, you'll find the product specs. Open that up, and you'll see it's a 104 mm last, meaning it's designed for a very wide fitting foot and also very wide in the calf as well.
However, it's a pretty stripped-down basic boot with simple, standard Alpine Soles. It doesn't have the walking enhancements of GripWalk. That being said, it does have a nice comfort fit liner. It still has good micro-adjustments, and the plastic is still good quality. It's not a fully custom moldable high-end plastic the way that some of the higher-end boots are, but it's still plastic. You can still make a lot of adjustments to the shell if needed. With a boot this wide, chances are you aren't going to need to do any kind of stretching.
K2 BFC 100 Ski Boots
If we jump over to the K2 BFC 100, we're getting a more elevated boot in quite a few ways. First, the plastic is higher quality. Second, you get two walking enhancements on it: Hike-mode and GripWalk, both of which will make walking a lot easier. When you click this up, it allows your ankle to articulate more easily. That's your hike-mode and your GripWalk on the bottom. This rockered, treaded toe shape makes it easier to walk more naturally.
On top of that, the plastic is a little bit more elevated. The liner is a little bit more elevated, and this boot is 103 mm last. So while it's not quite as wide as the Nordica Cruise, it is still a very generous, comfortable boot. So for people with very wide calves, very wide feet, and very wide legs looking for comfort but still looking for performance, either one of these could be a good option. The extra 100 bucks with the BFC gets you more walking capability and a little bit more performance overall in the boot.
