The Curated Take
4.6/5
The Callaway Apex Pro 2021 Irons are designed for "modern purists" who appreciate the feel and workability of muscle-back blades but also seek forgiveness and distance. These irons strike a balance between traditional feel and modern performance. They are forgiving players clubs due to a tungsten insert along the clubhead's bottom half. This makes them suitable for low-handicap players who desire a good feel without sacrificing forgiveness. The irons offer excellent workability, allowing golfers to shape shots easily. While they provide good distance, they are not primarily focused on maximizing distance, making them ideal for players valuing precision and workability.

Expert Reviews of the Callaway Apex Pro 2021 Irons
Ignacio Isern These clubs are for who I like to call "modern purists." These players love the old-school muscle-back blades but want the forgiveness of a more modern club. These irons do a great job of balancing pure feel and workability with a certain amount of forgiveness and distance. The appearance when looking down at these irons is not that scary. They are a bit bigger than a traditional blade, which inspires confidence. When golfers hit them, they will realize that they are fairly forgiving. The feel, sound, and workability of the irons are excellent and will easily satisfy the needs of the most demanding purists out there.

Review Ratings
Forgiveness
4/5
Ignacio Isern gave 4 of 5 stars. These clubs do not stress forgiveness because they're designed for players who don't demand such forgiveness. However, they're certainly more forgiving than a traditional blade due to the tungsten insert that goes all along the bottom half of the clubhead. This will improve off-center hits significantly. This type of club is ideal for the low-handicap player who wants a good-feeling club without a massive disadvantage in forgiveness.
Feel
5/5
Ignacio Isern gave 5 of 5 stars. Although some clubs out there feel softer than these, the feel is still good enough to please any good player. The feel is still pretty good, even when someone hits it slightly off-center, which golfers usually don't get with traditional blades.
Workability
5/5
Ignacio Isern gave 5 of 5 stars. These irons are designed to work the ball, which was certainly clear when I tried them. I had no difficulty working the ball with these. When working the ball, it's easy to hit the ball slightly off-center or at different angles, and I felt like these irons allowed me to do that without severe consequences to the distance and desired ball flight.
Distance
4/5
Ignacio Isern gave 4 of 5 stars. I found these irons to get quite a good distance for players clubs, but of course, there are irons out there designed exclusively for distance and will give golfers considerably more. However, the distance is quite good for a club that is still workable. The Tungsten Energy Core offers great MOI benefits and, therefore, helps increase distance.
Sound
5/5
Ignacio Isern gave 5 of 5 stars. I found the sound quite nice, especially for not being a traditional blade. They have inserted urethane microspheres, dampening the sound and increasing the feel. I think this is the key to the nice, solid, and soft feel golfers get from these clubs. I certainly wasn't dissatisfied with the feel.
