The Curated Take
4.0/5
The Faction Dancer 2 Skis are designed for advanced and expert skiers seeking an all-mountain powerhouse. With a 96mm waist width, they offer versatility and stability across various terrains and conditions, easily handling hardpack and 4-8" of fresh powder. These skis excel in high-speed stability and carving, making them ideal for capable drivers who enjoy charging hard. While they lack beginner-friendly characteristics and terrain park suitability, their durability, responsiveness, and versatility make them a top choice for expert skiers looking for a reliable one-ski quiver.

Expert Reviews of the Faction Dancer 2 Skis
Leo Cocchiara The Faction Dancer 2 is for skiers who want an all-mountain, hard-charging, crud buster looking for versatility, power, and performance in every aspect. The 96 underfoot waist width opens itself to an equally balanced performance for both hardpack and 4-8" of fresh powder. It's stiff and aggressive, so beginners and intermediates should steer clear of this one. Overall, it's exceptionally high-performing, and my only one slightly negative piece of feedback is that the bases took a few more scratches than I would have expected for the average hard-packed groomer day I took them out on. Therefore, if skiers are prone to trashing the bottom of their skis, they might find themselves spending a bit more time p-texing than they would like, but it's hardly a deal breaker for me.

Review Ratings
Turn Ease
3/5
Leo Cocchiara gave 3 of 5 stars. The Faction Dancer 2 wants to be driven by strong technique and power. The generous tip rocker does help ease the turn engagement, but if skiers keep pressure on the front of the boots and stay on top of the turn, that responsive camber will take them for a ride.
High Speed Stability
5/5
Leo Cocchiara gave 5 of 5 stars. The Faction Dancer 2s can achieve the highest sane speeds one could possibly expect to push them to on the mountain. The metal and camber construction absolutely thrive when a capable driver pushes the gas pedal. The only limiting factor is one's ability to hang on for the ride.
Carving
5/5
Leo Cocchiara gave 5 of 5 stars. The rocker tip coming off the snow allows for easy changes of direction when the ski is flat on the ground, but when I roll it up on edge, I can really feel it engage with a quick and snappy turn radius. I understood exactly why it's called the "Dancer" when I felt that.
Flotation
4/5
Leo Cocchiara gave 4 of 5 stars. The Dancer's 96 waist width and generous tip rocker handle 6-8" of powder comfortably. If someone's on vacation and expects the conditions to range from crusty hardpack to boot-deep dumper days, the Dancer would be a great ski to pack. It won't have a surfy feel, but it will happily plow through freshies just like it does everything else.
Versatility
5/5
Leo Cocchiara gave 5 of 5 stars. The Dancer is made to take runs from top to bottom, eating its way through chopped-up powder, moguls, trees, ice, and crud all along the way. It sits right in the sweet spot of what most hard chargers seek in a one-ski quiver.
Durability
4/5
Leo Cocchiara gave 4 of 5 stars. I can feel the dual titanal layers and thick poplar core pushing back on as I flex into the camber, which has a satisfying responsiveness. The thick side walls and topsheets come together with a clean finish, and peeling has yet to cross my mind as a concern. I deducted one star for getting a few more scratches on the base than what I would expect from relatively tame conditions.
Playfulness
2/5
Leo Cocchiara gave 2 of 5 stars. When we think of playfulness in skiing, we think of soft, buttery cores and loose handling for swishing and smearing all over the mountain. The Dancer is more like a sharp tango than a swishy waltz. It attacks the terrain with a definitiveness and confidence that keeps me on my toes.
