VS

In this comparison, we are looking at two snowboards from CAPiTA's 2024 women's line: the Birds of a Feather and The Equalizer. Both boards are designed for intermediate to advanced riders and offer a versatile, all-mountain experience. However, they cater to different riding styles and preferences. The Birds of a Feather is a playful, flexible board that excels in freestyle and all-mountain riding. It's great for riders who like to get playful on groomers and in the park. On the other hand, The Equalizer is a high-end, all-mountain board that is perfect for experienced riders looking for a board that can handle speed, carving, and powder. It's a more aggressive board that is stable at high speeds and in variable conditions. Both boards are highly recommended by experts, but the choice between the two will depend on your riding style and what you're looking for in a snowboard.

The CAPiTA Birds of a Feather Snowboard is a versatile, all-around board that is designed specifically for women. It's a mid-flex board that is playful and flexible, making it great for freestyle and all-mountain riding. The board is super light and responsive, allowing for quick turns and jumps. It also offers excellent stability and control, making it easy to maneuver on various terrains and conditions.

The Birds of a Feather is a great board for intermediate, low-advanced, or high-beginner riders who like to get a little playful in the park and on groomers. It's a forgiving board that encourages riders to try new things. However, it's not the best board for hard-charging, aggressive riders or for riding in icy conditions.

The board features a hybrid camber profile, which combines the benefits of traditional camber, zero camber, and reverse camber. This gives the board a good balance of stability, pop, and playfulness. It also has a durable construction that ensures long-lasting performance and reliability.

My overall first impression of the Birds of a Feather is that it is super playful and flexible. You can press it and you can butter on it. And surprisingly with how soft it was, it actually does pop really well. I was able to get some air off some side hits and really just play around on it, and it was an all-around fun board to be on.

The CAPiTA The Equalizer Snowboard is a high-end, all-mountain board that is designed for experienced female riders. It's a more aggressive board that is built for speed and carving. The Equalizer is lightweight and nimble, with a custom-designed hybrid camber profile that provides excellent carving control and float in powder.

The board features a META Core™ and Technora™ + Flax Boosters for a desirable flex and longitudinal power. It also has a Quantum Drive™ high-speed sintered base, making it one of the most technically advanced women's freeride options on the market.

The Equalizer is great for freeriding the groomers, backcountry powder days, and advanced rider progression and play. However, it's not the best choice for beginners or those looking for a park-focused board.

My overall impression of Jess Kimura's Equalizer is that it is my new favorite board for 2024. I would love to add it to my quiver. I felt like it was the most versatile women's board I have been on in a really long time. I am a very aggressive snowboarder and I like to ride a board that can handle steeps, that can handle technical terrain.
