The Curated Take

4.4/5

The Giro Contact Goggles are excellent for skiers and snowboarders seeking comfortable, adaptable eyewear. They feature a no-gap fit with most helmets, a convenient button for quick lens swapping, and durable, comfortable foam. Users should handle them carefully, as the lens may dislodge when moved onto a helmet, and the vent mesh is fragile. They offer a wide field of view and effective anti-fogging. Their universal design and durability make them a reliable choice for those prioritizing comfort and ease of lens change.

Ideal for
  • No goggle gap
  • Button release for switching lenses makes it quick and easy to swap
  • Face framing foam is comfortable and durable
Not ideal for
  • One side of the lens might pop out if not careful when putting goggles up onto a helmet
  • Vents on the goggles are covered in a fragile mesh that is easy to rip

Expert Reviews of the Giro Contact Goggles

Kiana D These are great for someone looking for a comfortable goggle that allows for adjustability and easy swap lenses. There is a button that releases a clip on one side of the lens, but it is also attached by magnets on the other. This makes it so that when pulling the goggles up onto my helmet, one side of the lens will pop out occasionally and allow snow in. I have never lost a lens with these goggles, although it is important to make sure it fully clicks in; otherwise, it would be likely. The foam on the goggles is warm, comfortable, and has never torn after 3 years. Since Giro is a universal design, these goggles have worked super well with all helmets I have tried, besides Sweet Protection, without a goggle gap.

Review Ratings

Field of View

4/5
Kiana D gave 4 of 5 stars. These goggles have a good field of view compared to others I tried on. I worked at a ski shop and tried on nearly every brand. These work for me, and I never get fixated because there is a wide field of view, so they don't get in the way while looking down.

Anti Fog

4/5
Kiana D gave 4 of 5 stars. I have used these goggles for a lot of resort riding, and I have not had many problems with fogging. However, I went out of bounds twice and had to hike a bit. I got hot and sweaty and took them off, and when I put them back on, they fogged.

Ventilation

4/5
Kiana D gave 4 of 5 stars. These goggles have vents all around the lens. When I am in high winds or riding fast down a groomer, I can feel the air moving through them and cold air coming in. However, there is never too much ventilation or cold air, just enough to keep them clear and dry.

Durability

5/5
Kiana D gave 5 of 5 stars. I have used these goggles nearly daily for the past two winters because I live two minutes from a chairlift. The original lenses lasted me two years, and I am now looking to purchase a new set. Overall, I am impressed by the durability of these goggles.

Comfort

5/5
Kiana D gave 5 of 5 stars. When trying on goggles, I always bring a helmet to ensure they are compatible. When I tried on goggles, many sat in an uncomfortable place. (maybe I just have a big nose). I tried these, and they seamlessly fit with my face, blocking cold air from coming in.
