The Best TaylorMade Golf Gear

Are you in need of some new equipment and looking for the best TaylorMade gear? If so, I’m here to help you find the best clubs and other gear to improve your game from tee to green.
Playing the right golf clubs and balls is key to playing your best. I’ve played a variety of TaylorMade equipment over the years, dating all the way back to their TaylorMade Burner nearly 20 years ago. If you played golf back then, you remember the iconic brown head and bubble shaft - what a classic!
Now, TaylorMade makes a variety of equipment for skill levels. They have some of the biggest names in golf too, including Tiger Woods (who has his own iron set), Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, and many others.
TaylorMade Golf
TaylorMade is what I consider one of the big three golf brands, alongside Callaway and Titleist. Each brand makes everything you need - from gloves to bags to clubs. Today, I’ll focus on clubs to help you make this game a little easier from tee to green. Here is some of my favorite equipment that can help you maximize your potential and shoot lower scores.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Drivers
TaylorMade’s Stealth 2 is a top-selling driver and one of the first “Carbon” woods (prior models were Titanium). The original Stealth driver was a monster hit in 2022, and the Stealth 2 added new technology for an even better design.
There are three models, which I’ll briefly outline below, to help your tee box game. Each driver has more carbon, making it more forgiving than the original, and has the same awesome-looking black-red design. The 60X Carbon Twist Face and Inverted Cone Technology help maintain ball speed on mishits and lead to consistent performance.
Every one of these drivers is 460 cc (the maximum size allowed by the rules of golf) and has adjustable hosel sleeves. This makes it easy to change the loft/lie angle to improve your shot shape and accuracy.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Driver
The Stealth 2 is the best model for the average handicap golfer (side note: the “average” handicap by the USGA for male golfers is 14.2). If you’re shooting in the 80s or low 90s and want a forgiving, long driver, this is a perfect choice.
This is a mid-launch, mid-spin driver that has a neutral flight bias. It’s available in 9, 10.5 or 12-degrees with two graphite shaft options.

TaylorMade Stealth HD 2 Driver
If you’re someone whoneeds a little help fighting a slice, the HD 2 Stealth is the better choice. It has all the same amazing features as the Stealth 2 but is draw-bias and even more forgiving.
TaylorMade shifted the Inertia Generator loser to the heel for more MOI (aka forgiveness) and helps straighten out your ball flight.

TaylorMade Stealth Plus+ 2 Driver
The final option in their lineup is the Plus+2, which is the lowest-spinning driver. It’s ideal for faster-swinging golfers and is used by players like Tiger Woods, Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, and many others.
This driver has lower loft options (as low as 8-degrees) and a stiffer stock shaft option in the Project X HZRDUS Black. It also is the only TaylorMade driver to have a sliding weight track to easily alter the trajectory and personalize it to your swing preferences.

TaylorMade BRNR Mini-Driver
While the TaylorMade Stealth 2 drivers are some of the best in golf, they also offer what is known as a mini-driver. This is more like a 2-wood, as it’s smaller than a standard driver but much bigger than a 3-wood. They are the only company at the time of this writing to offer such a unique, versatile golf club.
The TaylorMade BRNR mini-driver pays homage to the late 90s Burner driver I mentioned above. This club is easy to use off the tee and from the fairway wood - unlike a normal driver, which is only meant to be hit off a tee (for 99.9% of players).
This club makes hitting the driver off the deck easy and has Thru-Slot Speed Pocket Technology to help promote fast ball speeds. Paired with the Twist Face Technology, it’ll improve mishits and lead to straighter shots.
The mini-driver is available in 11.5 or 13.5 degree lofts and does have an adjustable hosel sleeve as well. You can easily change the loft to fit your ideal shot shape and make it easier to hit from the fairway, too. Some golfers choose to use this as their main driver, while others replace a 3-wood.

TaylorMade Stealth 2 HD Combo Set
TaylorMade has no shortage of woods but also some reliable irons and hybrids. The TaylorMade Stealth 2 Combo set is perfect for higher-handicap golfers who want to replace long irons with rescue clubs.
The irons are oversized and have a built-in draw bias to help straighten out your approaches for hopefully more birdie putts each round. Meanwhile, hybrids are high-launching and much easier to hit than long irons, working for all types of golfers.
You can choose from two set makeups - 3H, 4H, and 5-PW or 4H, 5H, 6-PW & AW. Plus, these iron are available in graphite or steel shafts (all hybrids come with graphite shafts).
If you don’t need draw bias clubs, you can always opt for the normal combo set as well.

TaylorMade 2023 P790 Irons
If you want a traditional iron set that has a good mix of distance, forgiveness, and playability, the P790 are perfect. These don’t look like they’re overly forgiving, as they don’t have a traditional cavity back design but don’t worry. TaylorMade has AI-optimized weighting and SpeedFoam on the inside to perform specifically for each iron.
Each iron has its own internal structure to improve mass distribution with Tungsten weighting. They’re a perfect mix of distance and accuracy, with the longer irons making it easier to launch higher. While the short irons are built for precision and control.

TaylorMade 2023 P770 Irons
If you’re a more skilled golfer and want a smaller shape for more playability, the 770 is a better choice. I hit these clubs when I got fitted in 2023 and they were a top contender. I loved the lean topline and simple, minimalistic design.
They are more compact than the 790 and have a slightly shorter blade length, which is perfect for elite players. They also have SpeedFoam Air technology, which is 69% lighter than the previous model and improves performance across the face.
My only wish is that you could pair them in a combo set with longer irons, as I wasn’t as confident with the 4 or 5-iron.

TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 Black Wedge
Whether you play TaylorMade irons or not, they have some incredible wedges, too. The Milled Grind 3 wedges have RAW Face Micro-Ribs to enhance spin around the green and on partial shots. These are the same wedges used by guys like Dustin Johnson and Colin Morikawa.
It’s important to note that the RAW finish will rust over time (the face only, not the clubhead). This won’t impact performance but is more of a personal preference, as some golfers like a cleaner look. These wedges are available in low, standard, and high bounce. From 46 degrees all the way up to 60 degrees in several finishes.

TaylorMade RBZ SpeedLite 13-Piece Set
TaylorMade also makes complete sets, which are fantastic if you’re a beginner or more casual golfer. Complete sets make it easy to make one purchase and have everything you need to get started playing golf.
The RBZ Speedlite made my list of best complete sets for intermediate golfers. The driver feels like a premium one and will help promote faster swing speeds for more distance off the tee. The set also comes with a 3-wood, 5-wood, and a 4/5 Rescue club.
The irons are very lightweight and ultra forgiving thanks to the cavity back design. This set comes with 6-9 iron, pitching wedge, and sand wedge.
But the best part of this complete set is the modern mallet putter. This is a premium putter which is pretty rare as most sets have a generic blade putter. It has a thin top line, easy to align, and PureRoll technology for a pure sound.

TaylorMade Spider GTX Black Single Bend Putter
TaylorMade also makes some incredible putters and revolutionized the golf world with their Spider series nearly a decade ago. I remember switching from a 2-ball putter to the Spider and fell in love. Now, they have a huge lineup of Spider putters that are easy to align and sure to improve your confidence on the greens.
The GTX Single Bend has a clean look with one simple alignment aid on the top of the club. The True Path alignment feature makes it easy to get the ball aligned with your target.
It also has a PureRoll insert to help improve topspin across the face for a smooth putt. The Precision Weighting also helps it stay straight through impact for more consistent putts.
