The Curated Take
4.3/5
The Callaway Rogue ST LS Fairway Wood is best suited for skilled golfers with a swing speed of over 95mph. It excels in delivering low-spin, high-distance shots and allows precise ball shaping due to its workable design and low-spin attributes. The club features an AI-optimized sound and a sleek matte black crown, enhancing its appeal. However, it's less forgiving on off-center strikes and not ideal for high handicappers or slower swingers. Its smaller head size and advanced features make it a great choice for experienced players seeking control and reduced spin in their fairway shots.

- Shapes the ball easily

Not ideal for
- Lack of forgiveness on off-center strikes

Expert Reviews of the Callaway Rogue ST LS Fairway Wood
John B. If a golfer can swing a fairway wood over 95mph and can leverage an in-to-out clubhead path, they might be able to achieve the almighty low spin high bomb draw with the Callaway Rogue ST LS Fairway Wood. I play the 3- and 5-wood in a Tensei White X-Link stiff shaft, and I would not be regressed to say I've never hit a fairway wood further. This fairway wood delivers excellent sound, feel, and distance. This club has LS in the name, and this attribute, low spin, is the truth. Higher swing speed players will see the benefits of a lower spinning and lower launching ball flight. This model may also benefit some higher handicap players who don't mind a smaller clubhead and need to reduce the spin generated with a fairway wood. Conversely, the smaller head, low spin properties, and launch characteristics will not tend to suit the majority of higher handicap golfers. The forgiveness factor is not inherent in this model. The workability factor is high, and shaping the ball has not posed an issue. Players looking for a more forgiving or straighter fairway wood should seek the Rogue ST Max model. The Rogue ST LS fairway is a weapon off the tee and for getting close to the green on par 5-second shots.

Review Ratings
Feel
4/5
John B. gave 4 of 5 stars. Feel combines several attributes, including but not limited to looks at address, sound at impact, weight in the hands, and ease of motion through the swing. The Rogue ST LS Fairway checks almost every box for me. The matte black crown doesn't shine in my eyes at address and looks sleek. The sound at impact is a satisfying crunch. I can whip it through the hitting zone with power and comfort. I gave this 4 stars only because off-center strikes let me know (not always bad when trying to improve).
Workability
5/5
John B. gave 5 of 5 stars. Workability is a double-edged sword, powerful when wielded properly and punishing when not executed well. A more forgiving fairway wood may not allow such vast swings or curvature when I want to draw or fade the ball in specific scenarios. The Rogue ST LS does not impede my ability to shape the ball, either left or right; in fact, it enhances my ability to work the ball. Low fade, high fade, low draw, high draw, if I can visualize it before I swing, I can make it happen. The front weight on the sole helps lower the spin, helping the faster-swinging golfer capably control the spin with this fairway wood. The ball stays on the planet while allowing me to execute a shape. I give it 5 stars all day for workability.
Distance
5/5
John B. gave 5 of 5 stars. The simple fact is that I have never hit a fairway wood further than the Rogue ST LS. The middle of the clubface is crucial when seeking distance with this club (no kidding). A center strike slightly high on the face will send my golf ball on a journey high above the fairway. Will I execute this every time? No. When I do, will it give me a dopamine rush that won't go away for two holes? Yep. It's a good feeling. I recommend the Rogue ST LS to golfers who want to feel good about hitting the ball farther than they are used to.
Forgiveness
3/5
John B. gave 3 of 5 stars. Mishits will punish golfers regarding distance—easily 15 to a 20-yard drop-off in the distance on a heel or toe strike. Without requisite swing speed, low spin can cause the ball to drop out of the air quickly. Center or slightly off-center strikes will exhibit average to above-average ball speeds, and low spin attributes help keep the ball from spinning off the planet.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
John B. Hitting low-spin bombs with these fairway woods feels incredible. The face is hot, and the ball trampolines on center strikes. The smaller head shape and workability factor really suit my eye and swing speed.
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
John B. The first time I took the Rogue ST LS 3- and 5-wood out on the course, I used a 4-iron off the first tee and found myself questioning that decision when I made a double bogey. Walking up to the tee on the second hole, a shorter par 4 around 290 yards, I committed to hit my new Rogue ST LS 5-wood, partially to keep the ball in play off the tee. I usually hit my 5-wood about 225 yards, and I was confident this would give me a favorable number into the green, which had a significant slope from back to front. With a smooth and compact swing, I crunched my 5-wood 259 yards with a tight baby draw, leaving a flip wedge into the green. I nailed the birdie putt, and my round was off and running. Am I averaging 260 with my 5-wood? No. Can I hit it that far when I put it all together? Yes, indeed. I've never been able to say that before hitting the Rogue ST LS.
Why did you choose this product?
John B. In early 2022, I was fit for the Rogue ST Max LS driver with a Mitsubishi Tensei White X-Link shaft. After some rigorous testing, the same head and shaft combination won out for my fairway woods. The Rogue ST LS 3- and 5-wood easily outperformed other fairways in testing data collected with Trackman. The data was compelling, though not the only factor. The matte black crown and smaller head shape really fit my eye at address. The combination of looks, feel, and performance made the Rogue ST LS Fairway an overwhelming victor in my vetting process.
