In the world of golf, the Srixon ZX7 Irons and Callaway Rogue ST Pro Irons are two top-tier products that have been making waves. Both are designed for skilled golfers, offering a blend of performance, aesthetics, and advanced technology. The Srixon ZX7 Irons are praised for their classic design, traditional loft, and workability, making them a favorite among low handicap golfers. On the other hand, the Callaway Rogue ST Pro Irons are known for their distance, forgiveness, and workability, making them a great choice for mid-handicap golfers. While both irons have their unique strengths, the choice between the two ultimately depends on the golfer's skill level, preferences, and specific needs.

The Srixon ZX7 Irons are designed for the low handicap or highly skilled golfer looking for a classically designed, traditional lofted, and workable iron. The irons are made with a 2021 Men’s Srixon ZX7 Iron set 5-PW and AW, with a standard loft setting where the PW is 47 degrees. The shaft type is Nippon NS Pro 950gh with a regular 95g flex.

The Srixon ZX7 Irons are known for their distance, feel, sound, workability, shaft feel, aesthetic appeal, grip feel, and spin. The lofts in the ZX7 iron are very traditional with a 47-degree pitching wedge loft. The feel when you stripe this club off the center of the clubface is amazing. Nothing beats the feel of a well-designed forged iron when you hit the sweet spot. They are so pure and so soft. The sound is pretty much non-existent when you hit this iron, which is a plus for many golfers.

The irons are also highly workable, allowing golfers to easily draw, cut, or keep the ball flight low during windy conditions. The Nippon NS Pro 950gh shaft is incredible, adding launch and carry distance. The aesthetic appeal of these irons is amazing. They are truly beautiful. The spin is a definite plus with the ZX7 iron. Soft landings on the green are a breeze with approach shots with this iron in hand.

However, the Srixon ZX7 Irons are not without their issues. They are not a forgiving iron, especially for longer irons into par 3s. The Tour Velvet grips can be very slippery in rainy conditions and tend to have to be replaced more often than other grips.

The Srixon ZX7 irons are the best performing club I have ever played. They are not for the golfer seeking a high level of forgiveness but they certainly will fit the bill for the skilled golfer looking for beautiful and sleek iron that will perform better than other forged irons with this style.

The Callaway Rogue ST Pro Irons are a mid-handicap distance iron that has extra weighting in the perimeter to add ball speed to the clubhead and increase distance. The irons have a good overall feel coming off the face and are a club for those needing some distance, and a club where one can feel comfortable working the ball.

The Callaway Rogue ST Pro Irons are known for their distance, forgiveness, workability, shaft performance, and launch angle. The irons have a very strong loft to aid in distance, but the weighting in the clubs still launches the ball very nicely. The irons are surprisingly forgiving for a mid handicapper. With 48 grams of tungsten weighting in this club, it keeps the spin low to moderate—making it a tad difficult to really hit the ball largely off line.

The irons are also highly workable, allowing golfers to easily draw, cut, or keep the ball flight low during windy conditions. The True Temper Elevate shaft is a mid to low-launching shaft that is standard with the set. At 115 grams, a lighter shaft that can still provide a good trajectory.

However, the Callaway Rogue ST Pro Irons also have their issues. The feel of the club was lacking; there is not a very soft face or feeling at impact. It was a very muted feel that didn't help golfers to know whether they had hit it in the center of the face, heel, or toe. The sound was a very muted, more solid sound and not that crispy click of a pure strike. The thick top line at address may be something a player likes, though it is not a favorite for many.

The Callaway Rogue ST Pro Irons are a mid-handicap distance iron that has extra weighting in the perimeter to add ball speed to the clubhead and increase distance. I love the new face technology, as it had a good overall feel coming off the face.
