The Curated Take

4.6/5

The Mizuno Pro 225 Single Iron is ideal for golfers seeking a forgiving yet powerful iron with a soft feel. Its hollow construction enhances ball speed, making it exceptionally forgiving for a blade design. The iron's strong loft can cause gapping issues, but its perimeter weighting and tungsten inserts ensure high ball flight and soft landings. Despite its focus on forgiveness and distance, it still offers a good degree of workability. It is excellent for players who want the classic Mizuno feel with modern performance features. The Pro 225 delivers long, consistent distance with a pleasing sound and feel.

Expert Reviews of the Mizuno Pro 225 Single Iron

Nico M. The Mizuno Pro 225 Single Iron is the most forgiving of the MP line. It is a hollowed-out Mizuno blade that focuses on attaining higher ball speeds. When I hit the 4-iron, my ball speed went up 7mph, which is drastic! The ball comes off of the face like a rocket ship, and it lands softly on the greens. This is my favorite Mizuno iron to date, and I have no complaints. The distance and launch it gives me is shocking. What makes it even better is that it is a blade, but it is super forgiving because it has a thicker body than the players iron, the 221. It's all-around a super versatile club.

Review Ratings

Forgiveness

5/5
Nico M. gave 5 of 5 stars. As mentioned, the Mizuno Pro 225 iron is the most forgiving of the MP line, hands down. It was manufactured with an emphasis on perimeter weighting, which helps give the club stability and almost cup the ball on off-center hits. If golfers want a forgiving golf club, the 225 will work for them.

Feel

5/5
Nico M. gave 5 of 5 stars. Mizuno has always been known to have the best feeling clubs and that is not lost on this iron. The MP 225 feels so smooth I almost don't even feel myself hit the ball! It is addicting to hit it because of how good it feels on impact with the ball.

Workability

3/5
Nico M. gave 3 of 5 stars. The Mizuno Pro 225 offers a decent amount of workability. The 225 has no problem hitting draws or fades on command, but it may take a little more precision and effort. The MP 221 or 223 are more workable club options.

Distance

5/5
Nico M. gave 5 of 5 stars. I wish I could rate the distance six stars because of how far it goes. It is remarkable how Mizuno made this club so long. The head is heavier than usual, leading to faster downswings, thus more ball speed and distance. It also has tungsten weighting, which makes it more forgiving and creates a bigger sweet spot for maximum distance.

Sound

5/5
Nico M. gave 5 of 5 stars. Not only does the Mizuno Pro 225 take off like a rocket, but it sounds like one, too. Golfers are destined to turn heads on the range or the course when hitting this iron. It's a very addicting club to hit when someone gains an extra 10+ yards, but it sounds like they gained 50+.

FAQs

What do you love about this product?

Nico M. The Mizuno Pro 225 Single Iron is my favorite from the MP line. It's more forgiving than the 221 and 223 but still offers a decent amount of workability. The distance this club offers is insane, and it takes off like a rocket.

Why did you choose this product?

Nico M. I chose this product because I was checking out the MP line that included the 221, 223, and 225, and I hit them all and immediately noticed I had the most confidence standing over the 225. The distance and consistency it provided made it a no-brainer for me to use.
