The ZX7 Irons are known for their distance, feel, sound, workability, shaft feel, aesthetic appeal, grip feel, and spin. The lofts in the ZX7 iron are very traditional with a 47-degree pitching wedge loft. The feel when you stripe this club off the center of the clubface is amazing. Nothing beats the feel of a well-designed forged iron when you hit the sweet spot. They are so pure and so soft. There is pretty much no sound when you hit this iron. That’s what golfers love.
The ZX7 Irons are also highly workable. You can work this club easily in any way you want. Draw, cut, low, high. Outstanding workability in every way. The look of these irons is amazing. They are truly beautiful. The spin is a definite plus with the ZX7 iron. Soft landings on the green are a breeze with approach shots with this iron in hand.
However, the ZX7 Irons are not the most forgiving irons. If you are off your game, you might struggle only with the longer irons into par 3s. The Tour Velvet grips are also very slippery in rainy conditions and tend to have to be replaced more often than other grips.

They are player's distance irons and are great for golfers looking for some forgiveness in a smaller, thinner iron. The model tested by our expert, Ryan Hernandez, is the 2023 Callaway Paradym Iron 4-PW with a steel shaft in stiff flex.
The Paradym Irons are known for their distance, forgiveness, feel, sound, shaft feel, launch angle, and spin. These irons are as long as any player’s distance club on the market. The forgiveness was pretty good. The feel is very good for a cast iron. The sounds were as expected for a player's distance irons. The good shots with compression gave a “steam being released from a pressure cooker” sound. The launch was very good. When launched in the window, the ball did not balloon.
However, the Paradym Irons were harder to work left and right. The design on the back cap is not the favorite of our expert. The standard grip on these irons felt like they would slip/wear out easily.
While these are a good option for the player who loves Callaway and is looking for a player distance iron, I believe the Apex by Callaway is still better due to the soft forged feel and construction.
