The flex on this board is on the stiffer side, which helps with the control of this board. This is an aggressive board, it’s a charger, it’s beefy. The board definitely gets on edge and wants to carve. The camber in this board gave it that controlled, precise feeling. The edge hold is definitely tight. There was no slipping.
In terms of freestyle snowboarding, this would not be the first choice for a park board. However, it did have some pop to it, but it wasn't the poppiest. It was able to ride switch on it, even though it is not a true twin. It was able to press a little bit and butter, so it's not like you're riding a plank of wood. The Arbor Element Camber is a twin snowboard that has a medium flex that is designed to handle a little bit of everything. It's a great snowboard to explore your riding, ideal for intermediate riders wanting to work on a little bit of everything, so riding park switch, riding steeps etc.
The grip tech allows for great initiation or start of your turns at the beginning, and then a nice grip at the end to finish with extra grip on the nose and tail. This board felt very damp underfoot. It had a classic camber feel. This board felt very damp when riding uneven terrain. It has a locked-in feeling of camber that allows you to press into the middle of the snowboard. A combination of that and grip tech allows you to ride in any condition.
This board was a great time in the trees and it was honestly just as much fun locking into high speed turns as it was cruising and even buttering and dabbling in a little bit of freestyle. This might not be the best option for float, but plowing through March snow conditions, it's not impossible if you lean back a little bit, because the medium flex will allow you to kind of get through anywhere from deep powder to spring slush conditions.
As my first full camber board, the Arbor Element Camber has elevated my riding significantly, I would suggest this to any rider trying to find a board that can do it all while they also progress through all the terrain a mountain has to offer!
