In the world of snowboarding, the Yes. Basic Snowboard and the Nidecker Score Snowboard, both 2023 models, are two top contenders. The Yes. Basic is a versatile, all-around board that offers a balanced flex, excellent carving ability, and a playful feel. On the other hand, the Nidecker Score is a budget-friendly board that doesn't compromise on performance, offering a lively ride and smooth edge transitions. Both boards are excellent choices for intermediate riders looking to progress their skills. However, the Yes. Basic may be more suited to those who want a board that can handle a variety of terrains, while the Nidecker Score is a great option for those looking for a high-performing board at a lower price point.

The Yes. Basic Snowboard is a do-it-all board that's far from basic. It's got a 5/10 smack in the middle flex to provide plenty of pop, stability at fairly high speeds, plus flex to allow playfulness with butters, presses, and tweaks. The board features a rocker toward the nose and tail for more playfulness, but a camber at mid-board for grip on groomers or hardpack. The UnderBite system on the edge allows for more grip while carving groomers. This board will let you take laps through the park, trees, moguls, groomed trails, or wherever you find yourself riding! It's a carving machine that floats well in powder and is light on the feet. However, the topsheet isn't the most durable, so it may not be the best choice for those who are particularly rough on their gear.

For my tenth snowboard, I wanted something in the middle of the line. Yes. really nailed it with the Basic. It's an outstanding board with the ability to really carve around the resort, float in half-foot pow, and pops up really nicely. I'm very happy with this board, and can't wait to try another deck from Yes. in the future!

The Nidecker Score Snowboard is a great fit for riders looking to progress in style without breaking the bank. At the heart of this snowboard is a full-length poplar core with beech stringers for added durability. Its directional twin shape and N-5000 base make it perfect for all-mountain riding, while the Absorbnid topsheet reduces chatter for a smoother experience. The board features a Standard Camrock profile that delivers a lively yet forgiving ride; edge transitions feel smooth, while the extra rocker makes light work of any bumpy sections. Whether you're hitting the trails or the park, the Score has got you covered.

It's a great experience. It's slightly setback. Not a true twin. It's a good camera rocker feel if you're looking to upgrade from the plane, but do not want to make the full commitment of the Merc check out the score. I think it's a great option for those who are looking to learn presses for the first time or get a little bit more Dynamic with their turns.
