In the world of snow sports, safety is paramount, and a good helmet is a non-negotiable. Today, we're comparing two top-tier helmets: the Smith Scout MIPS Helmet and the Giro Ledge FS MIPS Helmet. Both helmets are packed with features and technology designed to keep you safe on the slopes. The Smith Scout MIPS Helmet is a great all-around helmet, offering top-of-the-line ABS and MIPS protection, adjustable pads for different head sizes, and seamless integration with Smith goggles. On the other hand, the Giro Ledge FS MIPS Helmet is a stylish and safe helmet with a minimalist design, hard-shell construction, and the added Mips technology for Multi-Directional Impact Protection. Both helmets are excellent choices, but the right one for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences.

The Smith Scout MIPS Helmet is a versatile helmet that caters to both beginners and expert skiers. It boasts a simple aesthetic that hides its top-of-the-line, industry-standard ABS and MIPS protection. This helmet is designed to keep your head safe from direct and multi-directional impacts.

The Scout is equipped with removable pads that allow you to adjust the helmet to a variety of head shapes and sizes. This feature also increases ventilation on warm days and keeps you warm on cold days. The helmet also features a clasp on the back to secure your goggles and offers seamless integration with Smith goggles to reduce fogging.

One of the key features of the Smith Scout is its 8 vents at the back and 2 vents at the front, designed to prevent fogging in your goggles. It also has a brim that naturally protects you from snow getting into the tops of your goggles. Another unique feature is the zipper that makes it easy to get your helmet audio in and out of the helmet.

The last big key feature of this helmet is the MIPS technology. At a $105 price point, this helmet does a great job at bringing MIPS to a lower-end user so that everybody can protect their head equally. The MIPS helps to prevent rotational impacts, commonly seen on the ski slopes.

The Smith Scout Mips is an incredible deal for one hundred and five dollars. The Scout is lightweight, has Mips for protection, and is packed with features. Mips is always important when choosing a helmet for snow sports because it helps to reduce injuries from rotational impacts, and most of the impacts in snow sports are rotational.

This helmet is a solid choice with all the necessary features and none of the unnecessary ones. It's a very durable helmet, comfortable, and has protected many riders in more than a couple of incidents on the mountain. The helmet has a minimalist design and the ear padding is easy to remove and put back in.

While there are fewer vents in this helmet than a lot of other helmets on the market, there is still plenty of ventilation. The colors available are super unique and don't have issues with flaking. Overall, this is a very high-quality helmet and would be recommended to anyone!

This helmet might be one of the best ski purchases I have ever made! I have skied 2 seasons and well over 100 days with this helmet and despite a few scratches here is in perfect condition. I originally bought this helmet because I wanted to upgrade to a helmet with MIPS for better protection against head related injuries but didn't want to break the bank.
