In the world of snowboarding, the Jones Stratos Snowboard 2024 and the Burton Family Tree Hometown Hero Snowboard 2024 are two top contenders. Both boards are designed for advanced riders and offer a blend of freeride and freestyle capabilities. The Jones Stratos is praised for its excellent edge control, smooth carving, and freestyle heart, making it a versatile choice for riders who love to explore the whole mountain. On the other hand, the Burton Hometown Hero is known for its fast and responsive ride, excellent for blasting through tight trees and handling deep powder. While both boards have their strengths, the choice between the two ultimately depends on your personal riding style and preferences.

The Jones Stratos Snowboard 2024 is a freeride snowboard with the heart of a freestyle board. It has a locked-in feel while carving and freeriding, making it a smooth ride on the mountain. The board's shape, with its wide nose and awesome-looking tail, is inviting and versatile. Despite being a freeride board, it has a freestyle heart that makes it fun to ride.

The Stratos is one of the smoother boards, especially while riding edge to edge. It has a great locked-in feel when carving through tighter sections, and it holds up well in terms of play. Despite being the biggest board, it has a ton of pop, making it effortless to leave the ground or drop back down onto an edge and continue ripping down the mountain.

The board's contour shape and Jones’ Traction Tech allow for smooth edge transitions and are very much at home setting up for nice carves or awesome jump lines. It also has a great locked-in feeling between the feet, making it a great option for jumps, half pipe riding, and dabbling in the park while riding a snowboard that is still very capable all over the rest of the mountain.

The Stratos is also great for buttering and would be excellent in powder or spring conditions. It's a snowboard that can be handled by intermediates, but with its rad shape and 7/10 flex rating, advanced riders are really going to feel at home on this board.

This board definitely fits that description. There was a great locked in feel while carving and freeriding. Then while landing two side hits, this board had a freestyle heart. It had a very locked in feel. It has an amazing shape. The wide nose and awesome-looking tail were pretty inviting, and what looks like just a freeride board, definitely has a freestyle heart and is very fun.

The Burton Family Tree Hometown Hero Snowboard 2024 is a versatile all-mountain board designed for intermediate to advanced riders who love to go fast, carve through tight trees, and tackle any terrain. Its directional shape, directional camber, and flex provide a smooth and lively ride, while strategically placed glass stiffens the nose and tail for added power and response.

The Hometown Hero features a hybrid rocker/camber profile, with a rocker nose and tail and camber underfoot. This profile provides excellent float in powder, while still providing good edge control and responsiveness on hardpack. The 3D contoured base allows for additional edge hold and float in powder.

The board is not ideal for riding switch or in the park, but it is perfect for those who enjoy freeriding and backcountry adventures. Overall, the Hometown Hero is a high-performance board that offers a smooth ride and plenty of pop.

This board did really good all over the mountain but really felt at home in the powder and on more advanced runs. With the backseat camber in this board the ride of this feels smaller then it really is which makes it super easy to maneuver and throw around. I got amazing edge hold, easy float in powder, and a mid stiff flex for a more stable feel and comfortable ride.
