The Curated Take
4.5/5
The Marker Griffon 13 ID Ski Bindings are ideal for heavier or expert-level skiers prioritizing durability and reliable performance on the resort. These bindings are built with high-quality metal and hard plastic, ensuring longevity and the ability to withstand aggressive skiing. They feature an anti-friction device for smooth power transfer and a dampened ride, with a DIN setting up to 13. However, they are unsuitable for beginners or light skiers due to the high DIN range and can be prone to icing or powder packing. Their weight and lack of uphill capability limit versatility, but they offer confidence-inspiring hold and protection for resort skiing.

Expert Reviews of the Marker Griffon 13 ID Ski Bindings
max pilling The Marker Griffon is a reliable and durable resort binding. It shines in its durability and reliability. I've used Marker Griffon bindings for years in the resort, and the main benefit is I can ski without worrying about popping out unexpectedly. With the ability to turn the DINs up to 13, I can basically ski as hard as I want on these. These bindings are confidence-inspiring. This really helps when I ski in no-fall zones or hazardous terrain, and an unexpected release would not be good. These bindings are also very reliable. They will only pop out when I would most likely injure myself otherwise. On top of all this, they are highly durable, made of metal and hard plastic. With an anti-friction device in the front, I get a smooth, dampened ride and a reliable and smooth release. These are a great fit for heavier or expert-level skiers who like to jump and send.

Review Ratings
Release Reliability
5/5
max pilling gave 5 of 5 stars. I find that I only release if I would have hurt or tweaked my knee otherwise. The Griffon is great for being locked in and not popping out unexpectedly but releasing when I crash. At a DIN of 13, this binding is more than burly enough for most skiers.
Durability
5/5
max pilling gave 5 of 5 stars. Because of the high-quality metal and plastic design, I've found that these bindings can take a beating. They should last many seasons of use and will outlast my skis, enabling me to keep the same set of bindings. Marker is well known for making durable products that are made with great quality.
Versatility
3/5
max pilling gave 3 of 5 stars. This binding is not a fantastic fit for most skiers but is less of a jack of all trades and more of a master of one. It has no uphill capabilities, so it is only good for resort or cat skiing. And it does not fit well with beginner or intermediate skiers; they are better off with a lighter binding. But this binding makes up for it by being extremely good for expert/heavy resort skiers. These are good for those skiers who like to go fast and need a burly binding.
Power Transfer
5/5
max pilling gave 5 of 5 stars. These bindings lend themselves to being great for power. Due to the anti-friction device, they have a more aggressive heel angle and a super smooth ride. This enables me to really get aggressive with my carves and maneuvers, and I feel that every movement I initiate translates directly to my skis.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
max pilling This binding is confidence-inspiring. Its durability and reliability make me feel like I can send a little harder, go a little faster, and push a bit deeper, all while knowing my knees are safe.
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
max pilling I took these cat skiing in Canada and skied a line successfully that had a big drop at first. I landed a little backseat, and if I had been in another binding, I would have popped out and tumbled my way down, but due to these bindings, I stayed locked in and skied an excellent line.
Why did you choose this product?
max pilling I chose this product because it has a good combination of a smooth release and an ability to take a beating. It holds up well, but when I need it to release, it has a smooth release to keep my knees safe.
