In the world of tennis, the racquet you choose can make or break your game. Today, we're comparing two top-tier racquets: the Yonex EZone 100 Racquet (2022) · Unstrung and the Babolat Pure Strike Team 100 Racquet Unstrung. Both racquets are designed for intermediate to advanced players, offering a blend of power, control, and maneuverability. The Yonex EZone 100 stands out for its improved feel and control, making it a top recommendation for players seeking controllable power and speed. On the other hand, the Babolat Pure Strike Team 100 shines with its control-focused design, making it an excellent choice for intermediate and high-level junior players. While both racquets have their strengths, the final verdict will depend on your specific playing style and needs.

The Yonex EZone 100 Racquet (2022) · Unstrung is a fantastic update to an extremely popular modern player's racquet. It boasts improved feel and control compared to the previous version, making it a top choice for intermediate to advanced players looking for a fast-moving racquet with controllable power. The EZone 100 offers easy power from all over the court, thanks to its thicker 26.5mm beam width and relatively high 67RA stiffness rating.

The 2022 version of the EZONE 100 has a lower swingweight at 317RDC versus the 322RDC of the previous version, making it even more maneuverable. This makes generating racquet head speed on the run easy and reacting to volleys mindless. The EZONE 100 retains that pop but gives more confidence to hit spots because the feel and control are there, making the serve that much more of a weapon. However, the drop in swingweight from the previous version has impacted the stability for 2022, particularly when returning big serves.

The 2022 EZONE 100 has moved to the top of my recommendation list for intermediate to advanced players looking for controllable power and speed. It’s a user-friendly racquet that players of any playing style can pick up and take to a match with little to no adjustment.

The Babolat Pure Strike Team 100 Racquet Unstrung is one of the best control-focused racquets for intermediate and high-level junior players. It offers a lighter, more maneuverable weight than its heavier siblings, allowing smaller and less advanced players to enjoy much of what makes the Babolat Pure Strike series a favorite.

The Pure Strike Team 100 offers really nice control thanks to its Control Frame technology and spin-friendly 16x19 string pattern. The low 309RDC swingweight allows for quick movement on serve and helps when moving into the net to react to hard-hit passing shots. While the racquet does offer power, it does so in a controlled manner, rewarding a well-struck ball with enough pop to put opponents on the back foot without being overwhelming. However, the Pure Strike Team 100 is a bit stiffer than the heavier models and, as a result, feels more jarring.

The Babolat Pure Strike Team 100 is one of the best control focused racquets for intermediate and high level junior players. With a lighter, more maneuverable weight than its heavier siblings, it allows smaller and less advanced players to enjoy much of what makes the Babolat Pure Strike series my favorite Babolat racquets to date.
