The K2 Anthem 105 BOA Ski Boots are designed for hard-charging women with wide feet and calves, offering a 105 flex for all-mountain skiing. The BOA system provides a better fit and waterproofing, while the ratchet-like strap ensures a precise cinch on the calf. The boots are durable, but the BOA system can pop off if hit too hard, though it's easy to reattach. With GripWalk soles, they are stable on ice. Highly responsive, they offer great control and are versatile for all types of terrain, making them a solid choice for women looking to elevate their skiing game.

Expert Reviews of the K2 Anthem 105 BOA Ski Boots
Haley T. These boots are great for anyone with a wide foot or calf. After having pain or numbness for so long with other boots, these K2s are fantastic. With a 105 flex, they're good for hard-charging women, especially all-mountain skiers. Aside from the obvious benefit of a great color scheme, they have a couple features that set them apart. The first is the BOA system. The BOA system is relatively new to ski boots but has been in the snowboard community for years. This system is a different way to wrap the boot around my foot. Instead of buckles clicking down on the top of my foot, which can cause numbness, it pulls the sides in for a better fit. The second feature is a ratchet-like strap instead of a Velcro strap. While having the excess strap hanging out can be annoying, it allows for a more accurate cinch on my calf. Overall, I enjoy these boots and think they showcase K2's ability.

Claimed Stiffness Accuracy
5/5
Haley T. gave 5 of 5 stars. My last boots were a 100 flex, so I felt the difference going up to a 105, but it wasn't extreme. These boots live up to their 105 flex claim, but it is important to remember that these numbers are all relative to each brand. For example, a 105 flex in K2 boots may not be the same as a 105 flex in Rossignol boots.
Heel Hold
4/5
Haley T. gave 4 of 5 stars. These K2 boots have a wide enough heel that doesn't pinch, but it holds my heel in very well. I don't notice any problems with lifting or rubbing, and I don't get any blisters. This is great because it allows me to focus on driving that power into my ski and going hard on the mountain.
Weight
3/5
Haley T. gave 3 of 5 stars. Ski boots are by no means light. They're hard plastic and metal. But ski boot technology has evolved over the years to make ski boots lighter. This holds true for the K2 Anthem 105s. The BOA system doesn't seem to add or subtract any weight, so I don't notice a big difference.
Waterproofing
4/5
Haley T. gave 4 of 5 stars. Traditionally, the bottom two buckles of a ski boot have two functions. One is waterproofing, and the other is sealing a skier's foot in the boot. With those buckles replaced with the BOA system, K2 did a good job of ensuring it still functions like buckles. I feel that it functions better in the sense of sealing my foot in the boot since it doesn't clamp straight down but wraps around my foot instead. This design also means that it waterproofs well.
Durability
4/5
Haley T. gave 4 of 5 stars. These boots are durable and reliable. That being said, the BOA system will pop off if it's hit too hard. This will release the cinch on one's foot. That design is fully intentional, though. It's made that way so that the BOA doesn't get damaged. It's also easy to pop back on if it does come out, so there's no reason to worry.
Walk Mode
3/5
Haley T. gave 3 of 5 stars. These boots, as most do nowadays, come with GripWalk soles. This design means they are more stable on things like ice and hardpack. This feature is in lieu of a walk mode tab on the back heel. GripWalk isn't the most effective design. It has potential and is better than straight Alpine soles, but it is not extraordinary. That said, these boots are fine to walk in most conditions.
Responsiveness
4/5
Haley T. gave 4 of 5 stars. This boot is highly responsive. The 105 flex allows me to drive power into my skis and keep great control. I thoroughly enjoy skiing in this boot because I know it can respond to anything that I want to do. As skiers pack out the boot and it becomes more tailored to their feet over time, they'll notice how well this boot handles what they want to do with their skis.
Versatility
4/5
Haley T. gave 4 of 5 stars. These boots have the ability to do anything that I want to do and go anywhere that I like. Whether I'm on groomers having a slow day or in the back bowls, these boots handle it all. I enjoy them in powder and trees as well. I enjoy that I don't have to worry if a different boot will perform better because these boots are excellent.
FAQs
What do you love about this product?
Haley T. The K2 Anthem 105s are hard-charging, comfortable boots designed for women with wide feet and calves. After having years of pain with other boots, these are a game changer. The 105 flex allows me to drive power into my skis and have precise control.
Why did you choose this product?
Haley T. I wanted a hard-charging, stiffer boot that didn't cause pain or discomfort. I was also interested in the BOA system since it's relatively new to ski boots but has existed in snowboard boots for a long time. The way that the BOA allows the boot to wrap around my foot is a game changer.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Haley T. Given that these boots have a BOA system, they may be more expensive than other boots of the same flex and category. I think that they are worth that extra money though, because the BOA system is a great upgrade to the buckle system.
