The Curated Take

4.0/5

The Smith Blazer Goggles are ideal for entry-level skiers and snowboarders, offering a wide field of view and great lens color choices for various lighting conditions. Equipped with Carbonic-x lens technology, they provide enhanced scratch and impact resistance, making them suitable for riders who frequent tree-lined trails. The goggles also feature effective anti-fogging technologies, including built-in air vents, Fog-X anti-fog inner lens, and DriWix foam for moisture management. They offer excellent value with their durability, comfort, and quality construction. However, extra lenses need to be ordered separately for different lighting conditions.

Expert Reviews of the Smith Blazer Goggles

For the price, the Smith Blazer is a well-equipped goggle that is hard to beat. I highly recommend these goggles to anyone just getting into skiing or snowboarding. The ability to order various spare lens colors means I can get the correct lens for whatever lighting condition I am riding in. I really appreciate the Carbonic-x lens technology that helps prevent lens damage. As someone who spends a lot of time in the trees, I always scratch lenses easily, so I am happy to see goggle companies like Smith invest in technology to help mitigate scratching. The air vents in the front of the lens do an excellent job of promoting an increased level of airflow and helping to reduce goggle fogging. I have a lot of Smith products and have always enjoyed the way they integrate their goggles into the helmet. This really helps to keep my forehead from getting cold and prevent unnecessary snow from getting into the top vent of my goggles. Smith has always made great products; the Smith Blazer Goggles are no exception.

Review Ratings

Durability

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. The Carbonic-x lenses the Smith Blazer Goggles come with provide great protection from scratches and impacts. I have always struggled to keep my lenses scratch-free when I ride in the trees, so I am happy to see a company finally realize this need. After several tree branches to the face, these goggles are still scratch-free.

Comfort

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. The fit frame that Smith uses allows the Blazer to bend and contour to my face's shape naturally. This means that my eyes get a great seal from the elements, and there aren't any pressure points on my face. The two-layer foam is nice and comfortable as well.

Field of View

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. The Smith Blazer has a wider field of view than what I initially thought. The cylindrical lenses also help to provide an enhanced field of view. I have found that most goggles under $100 have a smaller field of view, but these are exceptionally wide for the approximate $90 price point.

Anti Fog

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. The Smith Blazer Goggles attack fog in three different ways. The lenses have built-in vents on the face that help to increase ventilation in the goggles. The lenses also have a Fog-X anti-fog inner lens for increased fog prevention. The Blazer also has DriWix foam that wicks moisture away from the face to prevent moisture build-up from the inside.

Ventilation

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. The face of the Blazer goggles has two large vents up top. This allows air to enter through the foam in these holes, creating a swirling effect inside the goggles. This keeps constant airflow inside the lenses and naturally prevents any moisture from fogging and settling on the inside of the goggle lens.

Quality

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. The foam in these goggles feels comfortable and durable. These goggles have multiple anti-fog features, silicone on the strap, and a wide field of view.
