What Are The Signs Of Wear & Tear In Non-Stick Pans?

Rust: This is a dead giveaway that the non-stick coating is damaged because the non-stick coating doesn't rust by itself; it's the metal beneath it. If the coating has worn away to that degree, stop cooking with the pan ASAP and replace it.

Peeling Coating: If the non-stick coating is peeling or flaking off, stop using it and start looking for another, as this is a sure sign that the non-stick coating is no longer doing its job.
