The Curated Take
4.2/5
The Black Diamond Men's Guide Gloves are designed for quite cold conditions, making them ideal for skiers and snowboarders who face harsh weather in the Rockies or similar environments. They feature a Gore-Tex layer for moisture protection, PrimaLoft Gold insulation for warmth, and a soft cloth for wiping goggles and noses. The gloves offer ample padding for falls but have low dexterity and may freeze if they get too wet. They are praised for their durability, comfort, and warmth, but are unsuitable for milder temperatures or activities requiring fine motor skills. These gloves are a great investment for those needing reliable protection in frigid temperatures.

Expert Reviews of the Black Diamond Men's Guide Gloves Natural
Andrius P. The Black Diamond Guide Gloves are a full-fingered professional-grade ski glove made to balance dexterity, durability, and insulation. Given how beefy these gloves are, they unfortunately give up some dexterity for the sake of warmth, but that's what they're made for. Black Diamond included a removable liner that features 170g of PrimaLoft Gold insulation in the back of the glove and 200g of fleece lining in the palm. They also feature a Gore-Tex layer that is meant to keep moisture out but allows one's hands to breathe when they get sweaty. I find that if I wear these gloves on a warmer day, the moisture from my hand makes the gloves wet, and the gloves will freeze as temps dip towards the end of the day. However, if someone is riding/skiing on negative-degree days, then these gloves will keep their hands warm without the fear of overheating.

Review Ratings
Waterproofing
5/5
Andrius P. gave 5 of 5 stars. I've used these gloves on primarily very cold or windy days, and they do a great job of staying dry. If I know I will be skiing above the treeline for most of the day, I will choose the Guide gloves over any other gloves I have in my arsenal.
Durability
5/5
Andrius P. gave 5 of 5 stars. I have concluded that Black Diamond wanted these gloves to be as reliable as possible. These gloves have extreme durability considering they are constantly being exposed to negative wind chills and snowy peaks. The material is solid, the stitching is solid, and they stay warm when I need them to be.
Comfort
5/5
Andrius P. gave 5 of 5 stars. These are some thick gloves, but they are quite cozy and very well-insulated. My hand comes in direct contact with the insulating wool, and the glove has no hot spots or pinch points. Overall, these are some of the most comfortable gloves I have ever tried.
Warmth
5/5
Andrius P. gave 5 of 5 stars. These gloves will keep one's hands warm even in the gnarliest conditions. They are ideal for a dedicated pair of extremely cold gloves. Keep in mind that if someone wants to wear these gloves in warmer temps, their hands will sweat.
Ease of Movement
2/5
Andrius P. gave 2 of 5 stars. Because these gloves are so thick, their ease of movement and dexterity suffer a bit. Don't expect to use one's phone on the lift with these gloves. However, their ease of movement is better than with mittens. I can still buckle my boots, adjust my helmet, and zipper my jacket.
Breathability
3/5
Andrius P. gave 3 of 5 stars. Breathability in these gloves only becomes an issue if they are worn in warmer temperatures. Because they are built for cold conditions, they really do a great job retaining heat. But they will retain heat too well if it is also warm outside. So, if someone chooses the right weather to wear these gloves, they should have no issue with breathability.
