You asked; we answered. Burton is arguably the most recognizable snowboard brand in the industry. Burton makes snowboards, bindings, boots, gloves, bags, and apparel. They really do it all. Burton, like Salomon, Arbor, and Union, are in the business of making high quality bindings to mount on snowboards. Here are the best Burton snowboard bindings on the market right now. NOTE: This list includes both mens and womens snowboard bindings (starting with men’s).

1. 2024 Burton Step On Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings

Some think step-on bindings are the future of snowboarding, and Burton makes a case for that argument with this sublime pair of bindings. For those who want to save time on the slopes, strapping in and unstrapping, these bindings are a game changer (more like a cheat code). With excellent control and response, these bindings make for an ideal all-mountain shredder, and with less time strapping in, there’s more to be had on the groomers.

Benefits:

  • Saves time since you simply need to step on.
  • Lots of response and control.
  • Good medium flex for a wide range of riders.

Keep in Mind:

  • Less-than-ideal performance at high speeds.
  • Not good for buttering (buttering is a type of trick that is performed on the surface of the snow and typically involves flexing the board and the bindings. Bindings that are too stiff make it hard to do butters)
  • Only compatible with Burton step on boots.

2. 2024 Burton Cartel Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings

Arguably the most popular bindings on the list, the Burton Cartels are the epitome of the do-it-all bindings. Although they are on the stiffer side, the Cartels are ideal for hard charging and aggressive riding. These high quality bindings are compatible with virtually any snowboard and are super durable. They might be hard to use in the park, but they are crazy good on the groomers and in the backcountry.

Benefits:

  • Good for advanced, aggressive riding.
  • On the stiffer side, which makes them very responsive
  • Durable; Should last even advanced riders 2 to 3 seasons.
  • Designed for experienced riders.

Keep in Mind:

  • Not ideal for tweaking and rails.
  • Not the best pair for beginners and intermediates because they might be too stiff to handle.

3. 2024 Burton Mission Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings

The Burton Mission bindings are an ideal mid-range choice for riders. Meaning, these pair of bindings should do exceptionally well on the groomers and in the park. With a medium flex, these versatile bindings feature a host of innovative tech such as ergonomic high backs, fullbed cushioning, and a retracting ankle strap. This is a pair of high quality snowboard bindings, without paying the high price you might for similar bindings.

Benefits:

  • All-Mountain and Freestyle capabilities.
  • Awesome price.
  • Suitable for all skill levels.

Keep in Mind:

  • Not your best freeride or backcountry binding (lacks stiffness).

4. 2024 Burton Freestyle Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings

As one of the top picks for this winter, the Burton Freestyle are an incredible pair of snowboard bindings. Geared toward freestyle riding, these bindings feature a soft flex that is perfect for side hits, rails, jumps, boxes, and more. Although they have ‘freestyle’ in the name, you can actually take them all over the resort. They might be a little on the soft side, but you can use that to your advantage when it comes to turns, butters, and tricks.

Benefits:

  • Durable. These bindings should last at least two-three winter seasons.
  • Suited for freestyle riders.
  • For riders of all levels.

Keep in Mind:

  • Too soft for the backcountry.
  • Not the best all-mountain choice, either.

5. 2024 Burton Cartel EST Snowboard Bindings

These classic, mid-flex bindings are a popular choice among Burton enthusiasts. Offering an all-mountain design, these bindings are loved by riders who ride hard and fast. The binding flex allows riders to do just about anything. From the backcountry to the park, these are a solid and reliable choice for a wide range of skill levels. That said, those looking for a freestyle-gear binding should probably look elsewhere in Burton’s lineup of bindings.

Benefits:

  • A solid binding for experienced riders because they are reliable and reputable.
  • An ideal all-mountain binding, and awesome on groomers and off-piste.
  • Awesome bindings for carving through powder.

Keep in Mind:

  • Not ideal for park riding.

6. 2024 Burton Citizen Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings (Women’s)

The Burton Citizen snowboard bindings are for the gals that want to elevate their game this winter. Designed for intermediate riders, these bindings feature a softer flex, offering riders a more forgiving experience on the slopes. With full underfoot cushioning, riders can ride all day without fatigue, and their women-specific design makes for a snug fit around the boot.

Benefits:

  • An ideal binding for all-mountain snowboarding.
  • Super comfortable, which allows for longer days on the slopes.
  • Soft and forgiving; making them a good choice for those improving their riding skills.
  • Well suited for more challenging terrain.

Keep in Mind:

  • A little on the soft side for those advanced riders.

7. 2024 Burton Scribe Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings (Women’s)

The Burton Scribe snowboard bindings are for the women who want to carve the groomers like a calligraphy pen on a flat, white piece of paper. In all seriousness, the Scribe bindings are a versatile choice for riders who like to do it all. Similar to the Mission bindings, these ones are ideal for the groomers and the park. Its mid-flex design is forgiving yet responsive. This is an ideal binding for any skill level, but especially for beginners and intermediates.

Benefits:

  • Great balance between power and playfulness.
  • Offer a versatile feel for advanced riders to perform a range of motions on their board.
  • Amazing pair of bindings for intermediate riders.

Keep in Mind:

  • Beginners might struggle with these ones because they are less forgiving than other, softer bindings.

8. 2024 Burton Step On Escapade Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings (Women’s)

Last, but not least, the Burton Step On Escapade snowboard bindings are an elite choice for women who want to save time on the slopes. Those who value speed and efficiency will love these bindings because they eliminate the need to bend over and strap in every time you get off the chair lift. While these bindings might not be great for experienced riders and hard chargers, they are incredible for beginners and those who value comfort over performance.

Benefits:

  • Super bindings for beginners because they are accessible and forgiving.
  • Comfortable and adjustable.
  • Ideal for all-day riding, as they save time with their step-on technology.

Keep in Mind:

  • Maneuverability is limited due to step on technology.
  • Not ideal for intermediate to advanced riders.

9. 2024 Burton Lexa Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings (Women’s)

The Burton Lexa snowboard bindings are designed for intermediate to advanced riders. Known for their durability, responsiveness, and comfort, the Lexa bindings are ideal for hard charging and aggressive riding styles. While they might not be the best bindings for the park, they are outstanding in the backcountry and in deep powder. These are not the best binding for beginners because they offer a medium-stiff flex that is better suited to seasoned riders.

Benefits:

  • Reliable and durable.
  • A good binding for advanced riders.
  • A top choice for a variety of terrain, but especially for any off-piste, backcountry adventures.

Keep in Mind:

  • Not good for beginners.
  • Not great in the terrain park.

The Different Types of Snowboard Bindings

Before you buy a pair of snowboard bindings, it’s important to recognize that there are different types. That’s right, snowboard brands purposefully design their bindings to fit certain riding styles. There are three distinct riding styles: Freestyle, all-mountain, and freeride/backcountry.

Freestyle

Freestyle snowboarding refers to the type of riding you might see performed in the terrain park, lots of butters and tricks. Freestyle snowboards tend to have a soft flex to increase maneuverability. Freestyle bindings are no different. They usually feature a soft flex to increase the maneuverability of a rider’s movements so they can do tricks easier and cleaner.

All-Mountain

All-mountain snowboarding is exactly what it sounds like, it’s all over the mountain. All mountain snowboard bindings feature a medium flex. That way, riders can do a little bit of everything. From the park to the pow in the backcountry, a solid pair of all-mountain snowboard bindings should do the trick.

Freestyle/Backcountry

Freestyle snowboard bindings are designed for riders who enjoy riding outside of ski resort boundaries. This often leads to hike-to locations where the powder is untouched and frequent avalanches occur. Freestyle snowboarders need maximum control and performance, and that is why these bindings are on the stiffer side.

The Infamous Burton Channel System

Before we close out, I thought it would be of value to mention Burton’s “Channel System.” The Channel System is Burton’s original binding-to-board mounting system. Most snowboard brands use a universal system that can be used across most snowboard brands, but Burton is different. Their boards use the channel system and, oftentimes, some bindings are not compatible with Burton snowboards.

Not to worry, ALL BURTON BINDINGS are compatible with all Burton snowboards. However, not all Burton bindings are compatible with snowboards of other brands.
