Expert Reviews of the Arbor Bryan Iguchi Pro Camber Snowboard

The Brian Iguchi Pro Camber Snowboard by Arbor is a great addition to any rider's quiver. This board is best suited for advanced and expert riders looking for a versatile all-mountain board with more traditional camber and modern technology built in. Using Arbor's system camber combined with the Grip Tech edges, add contact points for added stability and edge control. The Grip Tech edges will carve deep trenches, hold on steeps, and grab icy or hardpacked snow conditions with ease, creating a stable ride that turns and responds on a dime. The double barrel core adds structure and stiffness to the board, allowing it to float through powder, power through slush and choppy snow conditions, and perform to the highest level in any snow conditions on the slopes. Being 2x4 with 14 mounting spots allows for maximum versatility for stance and rider comfort. The extra mounting points are usually referred to as "blower mounts" and are used to set back one's stance on extremely deep snow conditions to keep the nose floating and smiles on faces all day long. Arbor is an eco-responsible manufacturer, and this board uses bio-resin, recycled steel edges, natural wax, and responsibly sourced wood cores for all their boards. The graphics on this are inspired and designed by Brian Iguchi himself and look great on the Arbor's natural wood grains.

Review Ratings

Playfulness

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. This board has a high stiffness rating, coming in on the scale at a 7. This means the board is not as flexible as others and usually makes for a less playful board. This board is easy to ride on rails or boxes, butters down the hill with ease, and has pop for days with the camber profile. The unique tail shape makes riding switch a little tricky; a true twin would be a little more playful and buttery. Advanced riders will still find this board easy to spin and play around on.

Turn Ease

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. The system camber and Grip Tech edges work seamlessly together and create more contact points for higher stability, deeper carves, and quicker turns. The added contact points allow the board to dig better in snow or icy hardpack conditions and make deeper carving turns. The rocker tip and tail make the board float, and the traditional camber under the middle of the board creates a balanced and stable ride.

Durability

5/5
gave 5 of 5 stars. Arbor uses all-wood cores on all of their boards and most feature a natural wood topsheet, as well. This creates an incredibly durable snowboard. These wood cores are combined with bio-resins, fully wrapped recycled metal edges, and sintered bases to make some of the most durable boards on the market. This board will take whatever any rider can throw at it and come back for more. Arbor also offers a great three-year warranty on all their products, which are built right here in the U.S.

High Speed Stability

5/5
gave 5 of 5 stars. This board is incredibly stable at high speeds or at slow speeds. The camber profile, sintered base, and 7-stiffness rating create a stable ride at high speeds in deep powder, fresh corduroy, and any icy or hardpack snow conditions a rider might find. This board blasts through the slushy snow and won't chatter at rocket speeds.

Carving

5/5
gave 5 of 5 stars. With a rockered tip and camber profile, the Iguchi Pro will easily float and take all the pressure a rider can put onto the board. The stiffness provides rigidity for the edge to dig in and hold at the desired angle and turn. Combined with the added contact points from the Grip Tech edges, this board turns quickly and will carve deep trenches or classic S turns down any trail.

Versatility

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. The Iguchi Pro is an all-mountain slaying machine. This board is great for advanced and expert riders looking for a stable, playful board to rip down any trail at any speed. Designed to be an all-mountain board with a directional twin shape, the slightly wider nose and tapered tail allow the board to float through powder, power through slush, and make quick turns and exits. The higher stiffness rating makes the board quite stable at high speeds, and the Arbor system camber profile combined with the Grip Tech edges create a well-balanced snowboard that can handle any trail on any resort.

Flotation

5/5
gave 5 of 5 stars. This board is very floaty. The rocker tip and tail with camber forming the main profile, combined with a directional twin shape, allow this board to float like a wakeboard in powder and easily slash through spring crud and slush. The wider nose and tapered tail make it easy to keep the board above the snow and surf any powder line out there. Adding the extra binding inserts, known as blower inserts, allows riders to set the binding back more on the board, creating a larger nose and setback stance to keep the board above the snow and surfing any depth.
