The Curated Take

3.9/5

The YES. Standard Snowboard is well-suited for riders seeking a versatile board that performs well in various terrains and snow conditions. It excels in fresh snow and offers excellent edge hold, making it ideal for both powder and groomers. The board is forgiving and smooth, making it suitable for riders looking to practice tricks and switch riding. However, it may not be the best choice for riders focused on precise hard carving. Overall, it's a solid investment for beginner to intermediate riders seeking a reliable and versatile board.

Expert Reviews of the Yes. Standard Snowboard

Leonid Cha I really love the YES. Standard! It's great for many types of terrains and snow conditions. From hardpacked snow to deep powder, this board seems to handle it all quite well. I enjoyed using it during a big powder day. It floated quite nicely even when I wasn't leaning back too much. This board turns easily and holds its edges nicely. Its flexibility lets me do tricks, but I wish it had a bit more pop to jump higher. For people who want to practice switching directions while riding, they'd like how simple it feels on this board. But there are two small issues. First, if riders want to change the position of their bindings, they might need different screws since this board requires larger ones. Second, while it does lots of things well, there could be better options if riders mainly focus on super quick turns or doing big air jumps. A plus for the board is a reduced volume tail that increases flotation in powder. It is a great board to start and continue learning. It's not meant for one season or to be replaced later. It's a really great investment because it's versatile and not too aggressive or soft—a good solid beginner board.

Turn Ease

4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. When I tried this new board, it was easy to get used to it. This is because of its medium flexibility and hybrid camber shape, which makes it fun and easy to control. With this board, I could easily turn left and right smoothly, feeling connected to it. I did not struggle at all. Whenever I decided to turn, the board followed me perfectly. Although there were some small difficulties making sharp turns at times, overall, it was mostly great.

Playfulness

4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. It is so much fun to ride, and it can do all kinds of cool tricks. When I tried doing some butters, I found out how easily I could press and pop the board because of its flexible tips and tail. It feels alive under my feet. Although I think it would be even better if it had a bit more pop, similar to other YES. boards I have ridden before.

Durability

4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. Even after using it in rough conditions all winter long, it still works great. There were some tough parts where there was ice or rocks, but this board didn't get damaged easily. I had to fix a couple of small problems because of those rocky areas, but now it slides just as smoothly as before. Its top layer looks great, too. Even though it accrued some bumps and scrapes, everything still feels and looks strong.

High Speed Stability

3/5
Leonid Cha gave 3 of 5 stars. It can go fast on smooth slopes. When I ride it quickly on groomed runs, it feels secure and cuts through snow smoothly. But when the surface becomes bumpy, or I go extremely fast, the front part shakes a little, and the back end can slide out during sharp turns. Although it works great as an all-around board, if someone wants to ride very fast, particularly in rough conditions, they should consider this because it might be less steady.

Carving

3/5
Leonid Cha gave 3 of 5 stars. Carving feels really fun. This board can hold its edge on soft snow pretty well, but it's difficult to control when the snow gets hard or icy. It requires extra effort to keep the edge gripping. When I carved aggressively on a steeper run, the board didn't feel as snappy and locked in compared to others I've used before. While it isn't terrible, I think there are better options available if someone wants to focus on carving all day long.

Versatility

5/5
Leonid Cha gave 5 of 5 stars. When there's soft, fluffy snow, it feels smooth and easy to turn. It helps me do tricks easily in the park area with rails and jumps. And while going fast down groomed slopes, it keeps me steady. I wanted to see how well it could handle different things, so I tried it on all kinds of terrains. It did great.

Flotation

4/5
Leonid Cha gave 4 of 5 stars. It really impressed me while snowboarding in deep, fluffy snow. Its design, including a thinner tail and adjustable stances, helped me stay afloat easily without putting too much pressure on my legs. I rode through all that soft, new snow; it felt like a pro board. Don't get me wrong. It still has some room for improvement, but for this price, it's great.
