This rod is a Medium Heavy (MH) action, which means it isn't super flimsy and whippy, but it isn't stiff as a board either. Medium Heavy is by far the most universal action, and gives a great soft tip section with a tough backbone, to drive hooks home.

The 7 foot length of this rod will help you cast those smaller lures, and the medium action will give you enough backbone to fight some good size fish, but will also give you plenty of feel through the rod. The fast tip on the rod means the tip is a little more "quick" to react to bites so you can see and feel the bite even better.
