Summary: Union is know for making incredibly durable bindings, these are their entry-level women's bindings and they're built like a tank! Seriously, you can get a ton of use out of these and they'll still look good as new! They're a great option if you're looking for bindings that aren't going to break down on you after a season (because trust me, bindings from some brands will).

Notable features:

  1. These bindings will fit any brand of snowboard!
  2. They've got a medium flex which provides a nice mix of comfort and performance! This means your feet and legs will be well supported out on the mountain and also won't fatigue easily!

Personal take: These will cost you slightly more than some bindings, however I'm quite confident they'll also last you longer than most bindings even remotely close to this price range. Think of it like an upfront investment that saves you down the line!

Any level rider looking for one of the most unique, easy, comfortable ride, that is also very responsive. They will really help with foot fatigue as well, who doesn't like that! All Now bindings use SkateTech, which delivers energy directly to the edges of the board. This makes for an effortless, and responsive ride, while also reducing foot fatigue. SkateTech also uses bushings at the base of the hanger as the direct contact point to the board. These are interchangeable, and really allow you to customize you ride. The bushings come in soft, medium, and hard. These bindings will come with soft, but the other options are available. Really cool and unique tech, that is easy to use, and could change your riding all together.

Super responsive freestyle shredding! The Hanger system (The little circle bolt in the middle of the baseplate) sends energy directly from your foot to the edge of the board, while special bushings under the edges also help absorb chatter and vibrations at the same time! A nice medium flexing binding, they are great for tweaks, presses, and just a little forgiveness in your landings!

These are a serious binding for the serious rider. If fast, and stiffer boards is what you prefer to ride, then look no further. With Now's SkateTech system which transfers energy directly to the edges of the board, allows for effortless, and responsive turning, and greatly reduces foot fatigue. Hanger 3.0 is wider, and more accommodating for larger feet, or higher volume boots. SkateTech also uses interchangeable bushings as the contact points between the base of the hanger, and the board. These bushings come in soft, medium, and hard, and are also available for purchase separately. The Now Drive's come with medium, and hard bushings out of the box. Again this is another really cool, and unique way to really customize your ride. Harder for more aggressive riding, softer for more freestyle, or mellow riding. Now bindings attach to a baseplate via a Kingpin system, and on the Drive's it is toolless. That means you can buy an extra set of baseplates to put on a second board, and seamlessly in seconds switch the bindings from one board to another. From someone that has over 30 boards, this is a really sweet feature!

Expert Q&A
Snowboard binding sizes are completely dependent on your boot size! Instead of all binding manufacturers implementing one universal sizing chart and measuring system, each brand uses their own. It is super important to check the specific size chart for the brand you are looking at before making a decision. Your boot should fit in the binding snug and secure without being too tight or constricting. Make sure all straps can close comfortably.
The first thing to look at is your riding style - freestyle, all-mountain, or freeride. The flex level of snowboards and bindings is typically portrayed on a 1-10 scale. 1 being softest,10 being stiffest. You’ll want to choose that flex based on the terrain you want to ride and how you like to ride it. For the smoothest ride, you’ll want the flex of your bindings to be as close as possible to the flex of the board! Next is choosing your style of binding, and this is all user-preference: strap-in, rear-entry, or step-on. Lastly, you’ll want to make sure they are compatible with the mounting style of your board!
Start by measuring your stance. You’ll want your feet to be about shoulder width apart. You can eyeball this, but using a measuring tape can be helpful. Next, you’ll want to pick your stance with the angles on the mounting disc of your bindings. A general good stance for a beginner is 15, -15, but doing what is most comfortable is most important! Holding the discs in place, set your bindings flush on the board at your correct width. From there, tighten the screws securely to avoid them loosening. Just like that, you’re ready to shred the gnar!
