Softer flex (3/10 on soft to stiff scale) which is easy to control and forgiving on sketchy landings. It makes it nice and flexy on the rails. True twin so it'll ride the same either direction! Will be nice for butters too with its flex. Strong extruded base. Rocker/camber/rocker profile gives it some extra pop and stability, plus a little bit of extra float in pow!

CAPiTA Defenders of Awesome Snowboard · 2023

From $449.95

Summary: This is an iconic freestyle board that turns the whole mountain into a party! It's built for the intermediate-advanced rider who wants to get the most out of their riding and really progress as much as possible. This is one of the most popular boards on the market right now!

Top Features:

  1. It's got a rocker-camber-rocker profile which is the ideal setup for versatility because the rocker offers a predictable ride, good float in deep snow, and easy turns. While the camber is going to give you stability, good edge hold and a ton of pop!

  2. Capita added a bunch of new tech to this board this year to make it wayyy lighter than most boards on the market. These means it's nimble and turns wicked easy! Super fun to throw around in the park, in the trees, or just dodging little kids!

Why I personally love it: This board is so jam packed with new features and tech it honestly resembles the type of boards you'd see going for $600-$700. In other words, a crazy good value deal!!

Solid deck for progressing on, with its flat profile, you'll get a catch-free ride so you get tons of room for freedom of trying new things and keeping your confidence levels up! The softer flex gives you a ton of opportunities to get jibby in the park if you so desire but keeps the ride as a whole, mellow. Not much this deck won't be able to do all over the mountain.

Any all-mountain or freestyle rider that is on the aggressive side will love what this board brings to the table. It is fast, has soooo much pop, and really snaps out of turns. A nice, and stiff twin for the riders that like to get after it in the park, or anywhere else on the resort. A mostly camber board with rocker in the tip, and tail. That combined with its stiffer flex gives this board all the control, pop, and stability any aggressive rider would love, but can still turn in tight spaces. Double impact plates, carbon stringers, and a stone ground sintered base, this board is loaded with tech that is normally in boards that are normally $650+. This is a really strong board that should hold up really well for heavier riders.

Snowboard Expert Shane Andersen

It has impact plates to make the board much stronger and more resistant to breaks. The traditional camber makes it great for all-mountain riding. Summary: The Salomon Lotus is a beginner/intermediate board that's great for pushing your boundaries and conquering new terrain! It's a very forgiving board and will make you quite confident in your progression! It's soft flexing and therefore playful so you'll never feel like you have to fight it and will have full control over your riding!

Notable Features:

  1. The edge of this board is fully detuned straight from the factory, this means that you're less likely to randomly catch and edge and fall on this board than you would be on other boards!
  2. this board is a directional twin which means it's nearly identical from end to end. This makes it super versatile and great for riding in either direction if you want to explore riding with either leg forward! The nose is just ever so slightly bigger than the tail which helps it cruise through deeper snow on powder days!

Personal thoughts: this is one of those boards that is great if you're a beginner but it'll also totally stand up to more technical riding, making it great for intermediates as well!

Summary: This is a sweet board for the casual snowboarder who just wants to explore the whole mountain! It's forgiving enough to make a great first snowboard but resilient enough that it'll work for those who have been riding awhile and are still exploring more technical terrain! It's got a twin shape for experimenting with riding either way and soft and forgiving flex so you can spend more time riding and less time falling! It's also burton's most affordable board!

Notable Features:

  1. This board's profile (the shape of it when lying flat) is "rocker-flat-rocker" this is the most forgiving snowboard profile on the market and makes it very easy to experiment with new riding styles. It's what I've ridden for years even as an advanced rider because it's very confidence inspiring!
  2. The edges on this snowboard are lifted upwards ever so slightly which makes it very difficult to accidentally catch an edge and faceplant! Don't worry though, they aren't lifted enough to be able to feel the difference, all you'll notice is that you aren't randomly falling like you might on other boards!

This is one of Burton's best entry-level boards that is easy for learning on and forgiving...you won't be catching a bad edge! Soft flexing and very playful. Has a flat to rocker profile which is really nice for learning your first turns. It is a twin-shaped board so the nose and tail are the same width and shape. High quality construction...great first timer board!

Ideal for the young grom who wants to get better in the park and have a high-quality, freestyle-focused deck to take it to the next level. Soft 3/10 flex and rocker in the tip and tail make it ideal for jibbing and park playfulness. Enough capability for floating in deeper snow and cruising all-mountain, but it shines in freestyle.
