Using this highly tough material to build the new hot metal iron, allows the iron to be constructed with a thinner clubface, which generates more ball speed and distance and power. This is really the biggest change in the new 2023 model. However, Mizuno is also stating that these new irons push the boundaries of what the USGA allows legally for the thinner and hotter face.
