Shimano SLX Casting Rod
This 1-piece, extra fast casting rod is great for using lures to catch things like bass, pike, bluefish, and drum! The fact that it is one, solid blank makes it more reliable when casting all day, while the extra fast taper allows for more precise movements of the lures to make more lifelike presentations. The reel seat is a Shimano custom, and it has EVA foam grips for extra comfort. The split grip design allows for direct contact to the blank, making better sensitivity. Better sensitivity makes it easier to feel subtle hits. This version of the SLX pairs best with monofilament line between 8 and 15 lb. test or braided line between 10 and 30 lb. test, and lure weights between 1/4 and 1/2 oz.
Other than looking great with the SLX reel, this rod offers tournament level performance at a reasonable price. Features a titanium oxide guides for long lasting smoothness and high density EVA grips.

It is really the perfect rod for anglers of all skill levels, and it works wonders on walleye and bass in particular, plus it is good for things like mackerel and bluefish in saltwater. This rod functions well with 6-12 lb. monofilament line or equivalent diameter of other line types, and you can comfortably throw lures between 1/8 and 1/2 oz.
Shimano Zodias Casting Rod
Daiwa Harrier X Jigging Conventional Rod
The Daiwa Harrier X is a great jigging rod. This rod is made from a lightweight blank to prevent you from tiring out while jigging. Fuji Fazlite guides can handle the wear and tear of even the strongest braid. Overall this rod is a wonderful rod, especially for it's pricepoint, and will become one of your favorites very fast.
Fenwick HMX Casting Rod
Fenwick is another long standing American company that brings quality, sensitivity, and high performance in a lower price point! This is the rod many Largemouth bass fishermen start their journey on! I have total confidence in it! After all of these years I can still pick it up and it's a joy to fish with!!
Temple Fork Outfitters TFG w/ Fuji Guides Professional Casting Rod
Temple Fork Outfitters' TFG Casting series is a line of durable casting rods with a powerful butt and a moderate/fast action. The emphasis in this series is durability. They will hold up against heavy use and against the elements. The moderate fast action that this series has honed in on is ideal for reaction baits like spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and buzzbaits. The slightly slower tip allows the fish to get the lure in their mouth and it allows for a solid hookset without pulling the lure out of fish's mouth and letting the fish swim off. The moderate fast action also offers anglers more leverage when fighting aggressive fish.
Daiwa Saltist Inshore Casting Rods 2020 Models 7 feet 6 inches - Medium-Heavy - Extra Fast
The Saltist Inshore casting rod series by Daiwa features blanks that are made of High Volume Fiber, high-modulus carbon-graphite. This means that the blanks are more rigid, making them more sensitive even in the high-power models. This also makes the blanks more strong and durable. The 1-piece design makes the rods more reliable when casting repetitively, and it makes them more durable while fighting large fish like drum, flounder, bluefish, bass, or pike. These rods offer precision as well as power; the extra fast taper allows for precise lure movement to enhance presentations and trigger more strikes. This medium-heavy model operates best with line between 12 and 20 lb. test monofilament or 15-40 lb. braid. Lures between 3/8 and 1 oz. are recommended.
Temple Fork Outfitters Pro Walleye Casting Rod
This rod is sensitive, lightweight, and very strong! It rod is capable of being paired with 6-12 lb. monofilament line and it can throw lure weights between 1/4 and 3/4 ounces. This rod has a moderate-fast action, which is perfect for trolling or slow-jigging near the bottom. This action type makes the rod more rigid and bend closer to the handle than the tip. This rigidity and elasticity makes for better hook sets and great fighting power! The full-grip cork handle gives more surface area to comfortably grab during long fights, without adding unnecessary weight. This rod only weighs 4.3 oz.!
