The Smith Scout MIPS Helmet is a lower cost helmet option that offers safety, style, and comfort in a well-equipped package. Any helmet is better than no helmet, but one that offers MIPS adds an extra level of peace of mind. MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System and protects your brain from the impact of a rotational force (think slip and fall) as well as a blunt force (think tree branch). The fixed venting, removable ear cuffs and simple design offer a cool and comfortable helmet with a stylish and sleek look. While it lacks some of the features of higher priced helmets, this helmet offers an incredible value and its all-season certification means you can wear it in the skate park or around the BMX track too. Originally posted at www.smithoptics.com on Feb 2, 2025Runs a touch small. I’m normally a size small but cannot get the small onto my head. The medium fits okay but feels a little too spacious. The small in the round contour fits much better. Had the same issue with the mnt bike helmet the Forefront and has to size up from a small to a medium.
