The Carbon Helio is a jack of trades for any backcountry skier. This ski cuts through stiff snow and crud, but more importantly, it performs like a champ in the powder. Light enough for the uphill and nimble enough for the tight chutes on the down, this ski can handle anything you throw at it.
Ideal for
- Best for backcountry touring
- Performs well in powder
- Surfs and turns like a pro
Not ideal for
- Might be a little too flexible for the resort
- The graphics are meh

I originally purchased the K2 Wayback 96 as my new technical/firm snow conditions ski. I literally found the K2's to be unskiable; hooking up on every turn, super jittery, mind of their own...sold them after 5 uses. I've been backcountry skiing for 25+ years. These Helio 95 are excellent; playful, light, snappy, and most importantly, I can ski without thinking about them at all!
