The Therm-A-Rest Basecamp is for campers who like to setup camp and go explore. I use mine in the back of my pickup, and on the ground in my tent. It is thick and inflates itself making it perfect in almost any campsite where rocks and roots may have kept you up all night due to a thinner pad. After years of use the pad still works like new.
Ideal for
- Super plush and comfortable
- Tons of nights without a leak
- Easy to inflate
Not ideal for
- The Basecamp is really hard to get to deflate and fit back into its pad sleeve.
The Therm-A-Rest BaseCamp Sleeping Pad is a medium-weight pad for shorter backpacking trips as well as car or base camping. This pad is self-inflating and achieves a thickness of 2in when fully inflated. A 6.0 R-Value makes this pad a great choice for use during the early and late parts of the shoulder seasons.
Key Features:
- 6.0 R-Value - A higher than average R-Value makes this pad good for use during the shoulder seasons.
- Self-Inflating Foam - This feature allows the pad to self-inflate and only needs a couple of additional puffs of air to achieve full thickness.
- WingLock Valve - This is a one-way valve that toggles for inflation to save breath and makes for easier inflation and deflation.
