Is Dalbello a good brand?
Dalbello is an iconic ski boot manufacturer that makes high quality ski boots in a range of intended uses, sizes and flex at their Asolo, italy factory since 1974. The key to getting a good boot for you, is finding a ski boot in the right mondopoint (length) size, with the right "last" (width) and the right amount of flex for you as a skier. A good-fitting boot for you will be comfortable for a long day on the hill, whether it is made by Dalbello, or another boot manufacturer.

How do you know if a ski boot fits?
When you first try on a ski boot, it should feel snug, like a firm (but not crushing) handshake, even when buckled at the loosest settings.. As you flex your ankle (pressing against the tongue with your shin) you should feel your heel slide back into the "pocket." This should also give you toes some room up front. Flexing forward should not result in your heel lifting up: then the boot is too big. The boot should be snug around the forefoot without crushing it, but over the first few times trying on the boot, the foam liner should. mold to you foot, making the fit more comfortable. Finally, if the boot is too tight on the forefoot, a boot fitter can expand the shell to accommodate your foot, but it much harder to make a boot fit "smaller."

The three-piece (aka cabrio) design allows for really consistent flex throughout the entire range of motion as you apply pressure to the front of your boot. It also makes for a really comfortable boot. A regular boot will be made of 2 pieces, the lower "shoe" and the bootcuff, whereas this design has the lower "shoe", a partial cuff around the back of your calf and ankle, and a plastic tongue piece, which really makes these boots adjustable. In boots, adjustability = comfort. These also have a walk mode, which makes the boot flex/hinge very easily when you are walking around in the ski lodge or to the parking lot.
