Product details

The Scientific Anglers Mastery MPX Fly Line is built for freshwater fly fishing. Built with powerful taper on the head, this line is designed to be the ultimate presentation fly line. It can deliver dry flies and throw large streamers, and a braided multifilament core helps reduce line tangles. The low friction coating of the line is due to it being treated with Advanced Shooting Technology, which enables longer casts.

Key Features

  • Marked Line – The line is marked within the first two feet of the tip for easy line identification.
  • Easy Leader Connection – The welded loop ends make connecting the line to backing and leader easy via a loop-to-loop knot.
  • Greater Size – This line is made a half a size larger to better accommodate easier loading on modern fast action fly rods.

This truly is one of the most versatile lines out on the market today. This line has been a staple for many anglers, myself included. The taper of the line makes it extremely forgiving and easy to cast. Versatility is incredible in the sense anglers can throw a dry fly, nymph rig, even some streamers on it, and being slightly heavier than your average line, it loads faster rods with ease making it a PERFECT line for many of the newer, stiffer rods that are out on the market. Perfect for all around trout fishing but ultimately is an excellent line of choice for any cold water fishery for any number of cold water gamefish. Want the jack of all trades line???? This is the one.

Casting smoothly at all distances, and mending at any range. S.A. lines are very durable, and you can expect it to last for years if taken care of.

This is a great all-around line. It is also a great line that holds up for several years. Lines last if taken care of, this one is a great investment! Just like out of the box even after two years for me!

Perfect for loading a fast rod and rolling out heavier nymphs and streams.

This is a great floating fly line for short to medium casts. Perfect for a stealthy approach on smaller streams and alpine lakes. It's important that you keep your top water (dry) fly floating, as this line will do it as well by supporting a strike indicator for shallow water nymphing. Recommended for small streams, creeks, and alpine lakes, as well as top water and shallow water nymph fishing with a strike indicator.
